The ferry from Paynesville sets you up for a fantastic experience. To see koalas so close up in their natural environment is just amazing. The island certainly when we visited was so quiet and peaceful we were planning to move there permanently

Just across the road where we are staying at “ The Mariners Cove” we walked to the jetty and caught a FREE ferry to Raymond Island. We spent ages walking around the island looking at all the koalas hanging around in the trees. It was...More

We were greatly surprised by the Koala trail and the amount of koalas okn view. Some asleep in the branches, others munching away on leaves. An easy short trail and adventure for kids. A brief ferry ride across which is free to pedestrians. We loved...More

Serene, clean, not commercial with a feeling of being so far removed and remote from the rat race. We took our car and explored the whole island but no need as the koala walk is a short walk from the ferry. Just Loved it

Every time we visit Paynesville, we pop over to Raymond Island. Kids love koala spotting. It’s great to see kids looking up and not down at screens. The barge going across the lake is fun for kids looking at the many sizes of jellyfish. You...More

Kirsten and Tony are fantastic hosts. Their home is a wonderful place filled with natural beauty. Feeding the colourful birds at the doorstep, the kangaroos and having a beach campfire under the stars are only some of the many highlights! We have made wonderful memories!...More

This place is awesome! Took the (free for pedestrians) ferry across, and saw 21 koalas in 1 3/4 hours walking. The heaviest concentration was in the nonresidential area outside 10th and 12th streets. We are blessed to have spent 3 months in Australia and the...More

We spent the afternoon driving around the island which there was some amazing sites on the far side of the island, the Koala's were worth seeing some are quite close. Take a picnic and enjoy.

A beautiful island, easily accessible from Paynesville. We love taking our young child as well as visitors here to wander the Koala trail and spend some time discovering wildlife as well as paddling in the shallow waters. It is a shame the koalas are clearly...More

Yes you can. I would suggest it too because you can go see other places in a quicker amount of time. There is a quiet beach on the other side and although you can get to it via walking or with a bike it is not really that... More
