Perfect spot to take the kids, huge playground under shades and plenty of grass to run around. The weir is so interesting, and you can walk across the wall. Fabulous history lesson for all the family

What a spectacular view from the bridge. I wonder how it look and sound like when there are more than one gate open! It's a nice drive and walk to this landmark. We'll definatly go back and take friends there.

the weir itself is like all other weirs. some people (myself) find them fascinating and others (my wife) finds them boring and same same. the highlight of this weir is the drive over kirwans bridge and goulburn weir lake further east

My son loved walking over the weir and watching the water go over it was amazing. There is also a park for kids there and it is fantastic to visit and have a bbq or picnic.

The original and the new. Very interesting history. A shame the info boards are so faded but what an achievement. You can walk across the weir. The park was lovely with huge trees their in Autumn glory. Great picnic spot.

Yes, they are allowed on the lake with directional and speed regulations. They do close lake access some days for rowing events so worth checking dates before you visit.
