Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I am sure this lovely lake was very peaceful 20 or more years ago. Sitting here at 1730 on a Sunday evening overlooking the lake, and all we have heard for the past 90 mins since we arrived is the thundering roar of Jetskis. Who would ever want to live next to the lake. It is lovely and quiet at 0800 in the morning. But by 1000 it starts to come alive.
I am sure the regatta is a wonderful event, where you can only hear the roar of the crowd cheering on the teams. Such a shame for what would otherwise be a picturesque tranquil lake.

I was on my way to Shepparton and I always make an effort to stop off at Nagambie and sit by the lake and enjoy a nice lunch by the lake. There is good Cafe and pubs with good food. There is no much to do on the water. But I loved the bronze statue of the famous Black Caviar by the lake. The old heritage buildings are great and kept in fantastic condition. Great place to have a day visit or stay a while.

We walked around the edge of the lake mid morning basically from the Visitor Centre towards the Rowing Course. It wasn’t possible to walk further. The walk was easy and peaceful. The wind across the lake was fresh.

My wife and I stayed in a Lakeview Room with a balcony overlooking this lake, at Nagambie Waterfront Motel.
We decided to walk along the walking track next to this lake. We walked until the track ended and walked a bit further to see the new housing estate, before turning back.
We enjoyed the scenic views and physical exercise.

As retirees we always travel with our well-behaved and trained house dog. The signs all along the lakeside prohibiting dogs is offensive.... we would rather drive through than give the town our business.

Nagambie Lakes is the home of Regatta for Melbournites and Victorians alike. It is a beautiful lake bordered by the town of Nagambie, natural areas and caravan parks. We ate at the Nagambie Entertainment Centre Family Bistro and enjoyed spectacular food and wonderful staff while we enjoyed the view, explored the town. Also worth a visit to Longwood, not far away to the Rockery gemstone museum, tea rooms and fossils. Awesome!

Recently visited Nagambie. Stayed at Nagambie Lakes Leisure Park. Beautiful spot, great facilities. The Goulburn River is beautiful. Fantastic park for families, singles and couples alike. Lovely Cabin accomodation overlooking the river. Powered sites also for camping and caravanning.
Close to Tahbilk Estate and Mitchelton Wineries. Great location. Only a hop, step and jump from Melbourne. Highly recommended! You can take your boat too, if you have one. Also lovely Cafe and Restaurant on site.

Went to the annual Nagambie Lake Fireworks display along with thousands of others sitting on the eastern or town end of the lake for what should have been a great display based on previous years.
Only one problem! Whoever the people were that planned the event this time placed the fireworks pontoon at the far/west end of the big lake around the corner and behind the large gumtrees. Thousand of people gathered there from early evening for the ten o’clock event and were left inflated as the fireworks were one, so far away you struggled to see their beauty and detail and two, largely obscured by the bend in the bank and large gumtrees.
Although a normally a good display, the location / execution and the poor planning to cater for the greater percentage of the crowd wasted would should have been a great spectacle. You simply can’t relocate an annual visual spectacle so far and not tell people.

We are looking at coming back to Nagambie again next Feb/March with a group but want to do when there NO Rowing Regatta on...
Written 3 March 2015
The rowing weekends listed for next year are on for 5 days from 17th - 22nd January. I day on 26th February and 1 day each on 11th and 18th March.
The March long weekend which falls on Monday 14th March in most accommodation places require a minimum 2 night stay and some are 3 or 4 night stays.
There are also a lot of weddings during the summer months which take up a lot of accommodation and the Skydiving National Championships are also in Nagambie with a date yet to be released but looking like Easter weekend (25th - 29th March 2016).
Nagambie motor Inn offer excellent accommodation in parklike surrounds with a great pool and BBQ area.and normally have 2 night stays on event weekends but 1 night stays otherwise.
We hope you enjoy your trip.
Regards
Jan
