Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

You can’t really miss schnapper point when you visit the Mornington pier. On the left hand side is a large rocky hill. Nice views and a boardwalk song it. Also an often overlooked Matthew flinders monument.

This is the second time we have been here. Its not a huge public attraction so its not busy , its just s small trail maybe 10 minutes walk at the most with a memorial at the top. The views are nice, looking out over the sea, and the Jetty.
There is a couple of benches at the top so you could have a picnic and sit down at the top. It’s a nice little spot if you are walking down from the park to the jetty its on its way, but its not a ‘must’ thing to see and do or to go and specifically do.

Large jetty plenty of room and great views and a good place to take the whole family. Fresh sea air is a good change from the polluted cities

There are several fairly easy ways to climb up to the lookout at Schnapper Point, and the effort is certainly worthwhile. The view is spectacular, and the direction finder to nearby attractions and towns is helpful and interesting.

Walked down to the pier. There is a great view of the bay on a clear day. A couple of restaurants there as well.

Great area for a relaxing stroll along the pier. Stop for a quick bite and grab some fresh calamari and chips for $10. Or just have an ice cream and sit and look at the ocean. We love watching the fishermen catching so much squid.

Schnapper Point often gets lost when people visit the Mornington Pier and the area around the Mornington Yacht Club and its two restaurants. The Point itself has a large memorial to Matthew Flinders and has great view to the west and north across Port Phillip Bay as well as a short walk along the coast and the cliffs. Take the steps up behind the public toilets to see the view.

It is a rocky red outcrop and point down where the pier is and has an interesting monument to Matthew Flinders who passed by this way on one of his three travels around Australia in 1802 and it has been said he charted much of the bay from this point. There is a small track atop the point that provides good views of the bay but it could be better presented.and maintained.

A must stop, wander along Mother’s Beach, and the pier, then enjoy the surroundings at the kiosk, for a great lunch or snack. We were there yesterday and had fresh fish and chips with salad and it was delicious. Definitely recommend 😃

Four of us ate at the Kiosk and enjoyed our meals. The service was fast and friendly and the meals were all generous. One of our party was celiac and found plenty of choices.
I recommend the kiosk to anyone who wants a relaxed meal overlooking the marina.
