About
Brown Brothers Milawa Cellar Door is the nerve centre of new ideas and experimentation within Brown Brothers winery and is the perfect environment for tasting new varieties and wine styles. We grow many varieties of grapes and have an experimental research winery, the Kindergarten, where we produce wines of high quality, but in quantities too small to make available for general release. These are released under the Cellar Door label and are available nowhere else. The range includes limited releases of new varietals, experimental batches and aged wines. Adjacent to the Cellar Door at Milawa is our restaurant where you can enjoy a la carte dishes created with local produce to complement Brown Brothers wines. We also have a relaxed food and wine in the Wine Bar.

A beautiful location to taste some good wines. I didn’t think I would like it because you can get Brown Brothers wine everywhere, probably at a cheaper price, but I was wrong. They have a very extensive selection of wines only available Cellar door that I found well made and very enjoyable. The prices were also good.
The only downside is that you have to pay for tastings. A pet hate of mine when I always buy a lot of wine.

Four of us booked a 45 minute wine tasting for late in the afternoon. We were treated to a fine time by Kit, a young and enthusiastic and knowledgeable man. Responding carefully to us, he listened to our interests and chose a range of appropriate wines, outlining the characteristics of each. He offered a very generous selection, exceeding the number described when booking. Other staff were also friendly and the setting is warm and intimate. A fine experience indeed!

Do not over look this experience!
The food quality is out of this world and the wines to match is to good to be true. I recommend going on a nice sunny day with no time frame so you can enjoy the tastings, a beautiful 3 course meal and lounge in the gardens after

We booked into the wine tasting session on a Thursday. Due to COVID-19, they had started doing seated wine tastings, which supposedly have been very popular so they’ve continued to do them. We were seated on a table of two and our guide, Steve, was just lovely. He was patient, generous and informative without any of the sales pitch or lengthy explanations.

It was such a pleasant experience to be seated comfortably whilst we went through an extensive tasting trying to track down which bubbles I had enjoyed at my Mother In Laws. In the end we found my goldilocks bubbly and discovered a few other delicious drops, taking home more than a few bottles!

We booked the premium wine tasting. We were sat down and had the wines explained to us by a lovely knowledgeable English lady who answered any questions we had and also had a great knowledge of the wines. For $20 a head, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience and of course spent plenty on take away wine. Highly recommend the tasting. Booking is easy and a better option. I am not a wine drinker and know nothing about wine, but still really enjoyed it.

The kids loved the playground but I found the experience a bit to touristy. We had visited the Barossa valley a few months beforehand so was a bit spoiled in terms of wine tasting experience. Found it to be too busy to fully enjoy the experience

Travelled 80kms to visit this winery and purchase some wine only to be told all tastings were booked out for the day as they had a bus load in! Very disappointed and decided not to buy anything without tasting it first. A wasted trip!

Exceptional local wines, great service, super friendly and accommodating of our doggy. The wine tasting was tailored to what we like and we were allowed to be inside with our dog due to weather conditions. At all times staff were amazing and the quality of the wine was exceptional.

Wine tasting was $5 for 5 wines and there’s no option to taste individual wine before purchase. Beautiful winery grounds with clean toilets but didn’t stay long as the restaurant was fully booked out.

Their bestseller Prosecco are probably cheaper to buy from Dan Murphy’s than the cellar door.
