- Louise VMelbourne, Australia20 contributionsImmerse yourself in a wonderlandAn amazing place Bruno’s artwork is mind blowing which he had to rebuild from scratch after losing everything in the Black Saturday bushfire in 2009. Bruno’s beautiful tranquil garden is located at Falls Road, Marysville, Victoria 3779. His artwork is made from terracotta and so lifelike. Marysville is such a lovely place to visit with Stevenson Falls close by.Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 5 March 2024

- Annie G1 contributionYou must do thisHaven’t been to Bruno’s garden since before the 2009 fires. Like the Phoenix it’s risen from the ashes better than ever. What a magnificent display of talent and imagination. Just beautiful. Had the pleasure of talking with Bruno himself about his work and starting over again. What an inspirational man he is. Don’t miss out on experiencing this amazing place.Visited January 2025Travelled with familyWritten 7 January 2025

It is really a unique place. We meet the artist himself and you can really feel his passion for the wood sculptures he has created. It is 10$ to enter this magical, fairy, science fiction garden. Definetly worth the stop in Marysville. We spent at least 30 minutes looking at all the sculptures and landscape. Things are hidden all over. All I can say is Bravo and thank you Bruno for sharing your talent with the public.

It was my first time visiting Bruno’s Gardens, and I had no idea what I was about to experience! The sculptures are set in lush gardens. I went on a journey into fantasy land! Every turn, every step there was amazing beauty for my eyes. The life like sculptures stare into your sole and they are so photogenic! We spent over an hour here and it only felt like 10 minutes! Fairies, witches, goddesses, goblins, mermaids, creatures indescribable! Emotions, in all of them. Gateways and portals aplenty! I kept making wishes every time I walked through another doorway portal to a different realm! Such a spiritual experience I hope I never forget. Bruno what an amazing world you have created and resurrected from the ashes! I thank you Sir, what a gift you have given to Marysville!

Travelled 90 minutes from Melbourne Suburbs to visit earlier this month. It was a very unique experience and one my family and I thoroughly enjoyed.
You can tell real effort and passion has gone into the sculptures alongside a bit of humour along the way.
Definitely worth a visit, takes around 60 minutes to walk around.
Remember to bring cash or be able to bank transfer as Bruno’s doesn’t take card!

The artist is unquestionably talented but alas my encounter with him today was so incredibly rude. We paid our cash entry fee into the box at the bridge when we arrived. We had only just started our walk around when Bruno approached us and accused us of deliberately disregarding a sign to go to the office to pay. Turns out that the sign in the car park had been turn around making it invisible to us when we arrived as someone saw a man turning it around the correct way to be able to be seen from the carpark after we had arrived. I guess Bruno wasn’t aware the sign hadn’t been visible to us but he as good as called us liars not accepting our explanation at all. It really ruined our experience as he came across as rude and arrogant. His work is exceptional but his approach to his visitors on this occasion was disgusting.

We visited this place on 11 April 2021 and was extremely disappointed by the experience. The woman was such a narrow minded person with no emotional intelligence who should never be serving customers.
As soon as she started talking we immediately felt uncomfortable and unwelcome. She repeatedly told us lots of rules with very hostile attitude, as if we had been a bunch of naughty kids (didn't want to go down the racist path). Apparently she was projecting her personal unpleasant experience on us given it was our first visit. She absolutely cracked at it when the door to the back garden was left open for the next member of the group and as it was before. If it was such an important matter that bother you so much why wouldn't you install an automatic door? Guess what? That probably will require good customer service to attract visitors to have financial support rather than pushing them away.

We paid in cash in the honesty box as we arrived and as we wandered around, felt like we had entered a magical wonderland. If have a good imagination then this is an amazing jumping off point. I’d almost wished we had some children with us so we could have made up stories for some of the characters. From my point of view, this isn’t to be missed as a trip through a magical fairyland of amazing art and sculpture.

This is a fascinating exhibit in a beautiful location amongst tall trees and tree ferns with a stream flowing through. The sculptures created by Bruno are fascinating and there is a surprise at every turn! Congratulations to him on reviving the place and repairing or rebuilding after the 2009 bushfires. I loved it!

The total experience of the gardens and the sculptures is mind-blowing, it is like being taken away to another world. The sculptures are truly thought provoking and exciting. By the end your senses are really heightened as you have been made to see things in every corner, crevice, bush or tree as you meandered through the garden. A most enjoyable couple of hours - thank you Bruno.

This is the best thing to do in Marysville by far! Such beautiful artwork from all across the world all crammed into the one garden. Bruno was very friendly and upon buying his book which contains all the beautiful artwork, a beautiful soundtrack was chucked in for free. It’s worth it if you’re in Marysville, we will be back!

Bruno's Garden has a $10 per adult entrance fee via honesty box. It is quite a substantial area. It was good to see the photos of certain exhibits taken just after the 2009 Black Saturday bushfires and and how they look now. It is amazing at how the area has recovered. it is well worth visiting to see the creative works of art. Very well done.

How far is it from Melb CB? Can you go there using public transport in a day? Can you book trips therere?
Written 10 December 2015
For my money it would probably take around 2 hours each way by public transport. Maybe even longer. I think the best option would be to hire a car and spend a night or two in Marysville.
The area has a lot to offer. For instance on the way you could stop at Domaine Chandon for a wine tasting, have a walk through Healesville Sanctuary or visit the Yarra Valley Wine Region. Once at Marysville there's a choice of accomodation depending on budget. The bakery is great for breakfast and the restaurant across from the big ostentatious place, Elevation 4....? Is good for dinner. Bruno's is around the corner from the police station and is only a walk if you like. If you are a golfer the golf course is a beauty and the restaurant has good reviews.
Other things to do:- Stevensons Fall is a drive; Buxton Trout Farm is a drive; the mountain drive is good; The Black Forest Inn is worth a go for lunch on the way out.
For a special treat Chateau Yering Restaurant is a cracker. A hire car is the way to go I think. Wednesday to Sunday will see everything open, avoid Monday and Tuesday.
Cheers Steve.

Hi, could anyone give me some idea how much time I need to allocate to look around the garden please. Obviously I'd like to spend a lot of time there, but I'm on a really tight schedule and I'm trying to squeeze it in. Thanks

Guess it is up to your mode of appreciation for his work and the time you spend viewing each piece of work
. You could achieve a reasonable appreciation with an hour, but you might want to give it just a little more. It is brilliant work. You will not regret going there, I have not seen anything that equates to it.
