Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Absolutely terrible. Spent 30 minutes waiting in line in the car, just to get in to the carpark. They made us park in the second carpark because the top carpark was "full" and then wait about 45 minutes for a shuttle bus. As we drove through the top carpark it was only half full.
Then we got to the top and there was one toboggan run with a 30 minute line and more people than snow. There was a kids ski lesson area and another "out of bounds" massive area that had about 5 people on them, while in the rest of the area there was less than half a square meter per person. First time my kids had seen snow and they were so excited, but they absolutely hated the crowd and couldn't enjoy the snow. On top of that, some of the staff were a bit rude to people as well.
We went on one toboggan ride (which was average) and then left after "trying" to have fun for 30 minutes before leaving.
We actually hung around in the carpark for 2 hours playing in the snow there and had lots of fun because there was noone else there.

Went on a weekend in the July school holidays, when there was hardly any snow. There was artificial snow on the toboggan run and snowboard lesson area, but very little in any of the snow play areas. That meant that with the tabogan run the only activity (for those not doing lessons), by 9.30am it was a 30+ min wait in a packed scrum for each tabogan ride. Kids werent willing to face that, so we went home. Looking at long the queues as we were leaving, I can only assume it got worse. The resort might want to consider restricting numbers on days with little snow, because otherwise it becomes quite unpleasant with everyone fenced into a tiny area. Kids were still excited to have seen snow, but I wouldn't go again unless the weather was a lot colder.

Visited in January, so not in season. , which made easy parking. Beautiful day but limited views of the scenery. A very basic cafe where we could get a coffee and snack. Best to go when the season is in and enjoy the snow. Seems there are a number of activities available in season, but very quiet in January,

We had a fantastic time on our recent trip to lake mountain. Our guide/driver Maj was not only a great driver, getting us safely to the mountain and back but a wealth of knowledge. She spoke about the area and you could tell that she loves her work. Very informative. The stops were great. Stevensons falls was breathtaking. Worth the short walk. We would recommend this trip especially after visiting the chocolate shop in Yarra Glen.

We drove for 2 and a half hours and paid $50 park entry only to find a tiny crowded toboggan run and a small snow play area full of people ignoring the 'no tobogganing' signs.
Despite signs all over the café advising people they could only eat food purchased on the premises the café was crowded with people eating picnics. There were also large tables taken up with people's bags where people had left them while going elsewhere. The 2-queue system was confusing and disorganised and there really needs to be staff monitoring the seating situation. A separate area for people to picnic and leave bags is desperately needed. We won't be returning.

You are required to pre purchase a ticket which cannot be changed or deferred. It was overcrowded. Most activities on Lake Mountain were closed. A toboggan run was open but very busy and staffed by officious rude people.
A separate snow play area is required.
I would not recommend this place as it turned out to be an expensive sojourn.
Snow might be light but we should be advised before going and be able to change plans. I would not recommend this place.

Hardly any snow, just have a small toboggan run for children, now where to talk a walk in the snow or tothrough a snowball or build a snow man has become very commercial not worth a visit
