Lake Mountain is Melbourne's closest and most affordable alpine resort, just a 120 kilometre drive from Melbourne. A year round destination for the entire family which during the winter months offers over 37 kilometres of cross-country ski trails, toboggan slopes and plenty of snow play areas. During spring and summer enjoy exhilarating flying fox rides, laser skirmish, challenging mountain bike trails and enchanting mountain walks.

The Resort provides skiers with the opportunity of learning new skills in a relaxed, fun environment. Our ski school provides both the young and the young at heart with professional ski instruction. Enjoy an intimidation free experience! We offer ski clothing and equipment hire on site over the winter months so there is no reason to not enjoy the diverse experiences that the mountain offers.

This review is out of the traditional season that Lake Mountain is known for. I've skied here for years but I've also done alot of walking around Lake Mountain and that is worth a mention as well. In summer you can bring your mountain bike up and ride the trails. Most of them do loops and connect with each other... More

Never seeing snow before, the boys had a fabulous time. We took the shuttle bus up to the mountain rather than try to tackle driving and parking - good value for the day.

Lake Mountain and other snow resort mountains are great for skiing and snow fun in winter, and also great mountain biking, bushwalking and pack carrying spots other seasons of the year. I have hiked here a few times with our bush walking club, packing the weekend with walks around Marysville as well. Beautiful location. We just spotted some bird orchids... More

We headed up to surprise the kids with some fun activities they weren't expecting while we were staying in Marysville. The drive up and views are great, and frankly it was pretty quiet up there the day we visited so it's also quite peaceful and parking etc is a non-issue - quite the contrast to our winter visit! Our two... More

We visited on a day where there was low cloud and a bit cool. The cafe has a limited selection of food for sale for the summer tourists. But it was fresh and yummy. the coffee was good too. And the staff were very friendly willingly taking photos for couples and families. Will return on a sunnier day.

Drive up the Yarra Ranges to Lake Mountain and you’ll be greeted with amazing alpine views. In winter, if the snow fall is good, you can grab a toboggan and slide down the slopes at the Lake Mountain Alpine Resort. A few years ago, bush fire destroyed many of the areas here so when you drive up, you can still... More

I have skied at Lake Mountain for over 35 years & always enjoy going there. It has been wonderful to watch the regrowth & rebuilding since the 2009 bushfires. LM has 30 km plus of beginner, & intermediate level cross country ski trails. Most are groomed every night when the snow is deep enough. The only concern is the lack... More

Unfortunately our trip was delayed and we missed the snow season. We arrived the very last days of winter. The ranger showed us of photo of the man made snow that was at the top before we paid (there was not much but plenty for us). We hired snow gear & toboggans& had a fabulous time. Staff very very nice... More
