About
Once Upon A Time 2 People Had A Dream… When Mansfield’s Star Cinema closed in 2006, James and Catriona Wilson did not want the local area to be left without this important public facility. They therefore developed a unique business model to establish a not-for-profit community cinema that would employ and train local students. Collaborating with Mansfield College and Goulburn-Ovens TAFE, To our knowledge, MAC is the only community cinema with an apprenticeship training program in Australia. We love our students and do whatever we can to boost their self-confidence and their learning. Remember this is a community based cinema and is Australia’s FIRST fully digital operation. All profits are returned to local students and other local organisations, grab something from the candy bar, tell your friends and most importantly keep coming back. Enjoy the movie experience! We look forward to Meeting You At The Mac!!

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have seen this every time I go to Mansfield but because my time is limited to day trips, I have never stopped to spend hours here, but recently on the Easter Weekend I drove out specifically to go to the cinema. Clearly I looked around the area as I usually do, but the focus of this trip was to go to a movie here.
I was literally like a kid in a candy store when I arrived... ever so excited that I arrived and I was able to procure a ticket. Due to the local market being on at the same time it was quieter than usual and I was utterly delighted to have the downstairs area to myself. The staff were amazing and showed me around. I bought a small popcorn and a choc top ice-cream , took my seat in the leather recliner and settled in to watch a fabulous movie.
For me this trip was utterly amazing... the movie was great, but it was an item I ticked off my list of things to do in this part of the state.
✔ Great customer service
✔ Incredibly comfortable seats
✔ Unique experience
✔ Offers standards at the Candy Bar
✔ Bar next door

We watched ‘The Dry’ in the comfort of spacious recliners at the Mansfield cinema. Side note - the choc tops were delicious. Tops & cones crunchy. Popcorn was fresh too. Highly recommend.

Twin screen cinema with arm-chairs & huge bean bags, showing the latest flicks. Food & drink was a steal at $12 for popcorn, drink & a choc top!

The MAC has two cinemas offering a range of seating options, from relax seats upstairs, wider and double seats and double beanbags all located on the ground floor. Movies shown are current national releases and they also have a candy bar.
A pleasant way to spend an afternoon..

While on family holiday my brother in law and I were aloud out for the night to go on a bro date to see the latest Star Wars movie.
This is an awesome cinema!!
Small and intimate even in a small space it felt very comfortable and sound quality is spot on!!
Little hard to spot from the street the front of house staff are very friendly and eager to make your time a memorable one. We were late by fifteen minutes and the lady was most concerned and wanted to make sure we were looked after. All this just enhanced our experience here.
For a little country cinema this place is well worth visiting and watching the latest movies in a well setup and comfortable cinema.
Would I come back? You bet!!

We love the Mansfield Armchair Cinema for their great staff, excellent range of movies, the comfy seats and beanbags, all the goodies (including a glass of wine) from the candy bar, and especially the airconditioning on a hot day!! It is great to see the students operating the business and good to know it is a community set up. Well done MAC - you bring another fantastic dimension to Mansfield.

Bean bags or recliners to upgrade in to, the Luna Bar for a cocktail, beer or wine to take into the movie, super friendly team made up of many school based apprentices, this not for profit community cinema is not to be missed. Latest release movies 7 days a week. Well done Mansfield.
