We went for lunch on Friday after pre-booking the two course lunch, $65.00 per person, opting for the main and dessert. The wine list offers 150ml or 250ml glass of their wine or a bottle of their wines. The sticky lamb shoulder was very delicious and well presented as was the barramundi and we chose a side dish of hand cut russet chips with black garlic aioli. The dessert was exquisite, expresso crème brulee with muscat soaked raisins and hazelnut ice cream (see photos). To have a fantastic restaurant on our door step with a talented chef and front of house staff, Anthony and Alison it made a drizzly rainy day outside into a warm day inside. Value for money.

Surprised that the cellar door did not have a tasting menu as such. We were hoping to try some different offerings before we had lunch in the restaurant. It appeared that we would have to buy the wine by the glass to try them.
The restaurant offered 2 courses for $65 or 3 courses for $85. The meals were typically small and sides were offered at $12 each. We had a main and crème brûlée for dessert (which in itself was amazing but strangely accompanied by lemon sorbet). My steak was cooked just as I requested and my wife had the fish, which she enjoyed despite the pickled? Cauliflower.

Hi Gingermegs55,
Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback, both our cellar door and our restaurant offer a self guided wine flight for $16pp and it is the equivalent of one glass of wine with different wines. I am sorry to hear that this wasn't explained to you.
I am however pleased that you enjoyed your lunch with us and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.
Kind regards,
Alyson Leary

Our family held an 80th birthday at the winery last weekend for the entire family. I had engaged with the winery for months trying to work out given lockdown restrictions if we would be able to attend. The staff were so accommodating, changing the booking a number of times due to various changes. They were more than happy for us to bring our own cake, for just a small fee of $15 for all 16 of us. The meals which were set menu were just delicious and there was not one complaint about any meal. We had a lovely afternoon, the staff were so friendly and nothing was a problem. Would happily recommend this winery to others, and will definitely be returning.

We visited the Cellar Door and it is really modern and has a nice menu selection of woodfire pizzas and bites. A little pricey so we stuck to a tasting. The wines on the paddle were good but i was surprised to learn only 1 was estate grown, the remaining being from the region though. Good service but staff are not super enthused, nor excited to chat to customers or share expertise. It was an overall good experience and would recommend making the stop - there are nice views too.

Hi Allacazam17,
Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback, I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed your experience in our Cellar Door.
Our menu pricing is based on share style items of wood fired pizza, charcuterie and cheese plates all between $22 and $28 which are reasonably priced for the size and quality you receive. In terms of our wine offering, our vineyard is a boutique vineyard and limited to growing Chardonnay and Pinot Noir at the moment. In order to offer our guests a broader variety we work with local winemakers so we can still showcase what the Macedon Ranges can offer as we don't have the ability to produce other varietals just yet (although we do have plans for growth in this area) and we also pride ourselves in delivering a memorable guest experience with plenty to choose from.
I am sorry to hear that you felt the staff were not engaged as at the time of your visit, the cellar door had only just opened and we are all incredibly excited about the space and sharing our story with those who visit. I do hope that you visit us again in the future and again thank you for proving feedback as it does help us to grow.

Had this place recommended by Nathan Grimes. Wasn't disappointed in any way. As tragic Richmond supporters it was a surprise to see Dylan Grimes and Tom Lynch strolling casually around outside. Thanks to Dylan for giving up his time for a photo. Was a thrill for us. Very personable bloke.

This winery is beautiful! The restaurant was simply amazing. The service, food and wine were absolutely beautiful. The pork belly entree was to die for. It’s really great value as you can get 2 or 3 courses for a set price, only $59 or $79. Such good value. We also went into the cellar door after lunch to enjoy another bottle of wine, it was great in there and they were doing woodfired pizzas. If you’re in this area, you have to visit here!
A side note - we got a taxi here from the Macedon ranges hotel, it was 7km, 12 min trip and they charged us $60!!! We could not believe it. It really put a damper on our day as we were so worried how we would get back home. I tried Uber, 13cabs etc but no luck. We ended up having to get Macedon taxis home again and after telling the manager how annoyed we were, he then still charged us $45 to get home!!! We will probably never come back to this region as it’s such a rip off and we were really upset by this, it definitely put a real damper on our weekend away here.

We had a very pleasant lunch at Mount Macedon Winery restaurant. The staff gave us a warm greeting and service was always prompt, friendly and helpful. The restaurant has a nice view overlooking the grapevines on one side and the the countryside on the other. The menu offered some good choices. We particularly enjoyed the sticky lamb shoulder main course. We tasted a flight of 4 wines that were OK but also ordered a glass of the shiraz which I thought was the best of the wines we tasted.

We had a lovely lunch here to celebrate my partner’s birthday and it was wonderful. Highlights included the pork belly and smoked kingfish entree, and the Pinot gris. Wine was lovely and complemented by the food beautifully.
Staff welcoming, professional and friendly.
It was such a treat to dine out again, we would definitely recommend MMW to friends and family and look forward to coming back.

What a beautiful venue. We were greeted with a warm welcome and shown to our table. Very minimalistic dining room but it had ambience. We were a party of 12 celebrating my 60th and the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. They got all out orders right and kept coming to see if we needed anything else. I would absolutely recommend this winery for a large group or intimate get together. The food was excellent , wine’s delicious and great cocktails ( you have to have a Cham Cham ) . Thank you MMW for making my birthday so special.

I had a fantastic experience at Mount Macedon Winery, both the food and the wine exceeded my expectations! I loved the veggie grazing board, though my favourite meal was the diavola pizza, perfect portion and had heaps of toppings. I'm not a huge wine guy, though I've just started to get into my wine and loved their Pino Nior, I ended up buying a bottle!
What brought the whole experience together was the awesome atmosphere, the professionalism of the staff - providing prompt service and were welcoming as soon as we walked in the door - and lastly the amazing views of the property.
Would definitely go back there in a heartbeat.
