Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Don't be fooled by their mouth watering menu, the only thing you will be diving for is water after eating there; i.e when you eventually get your meals.

When the meals did arrive they were cold and tasteless.

When we complained about the mash potatoe being like custard, the owner stuck his finger in it and said, " Yep that's potatoe".....What world do we live in.

Just terrible!!

The streetscape is lovely and we had a great Breakfast at Home Grown on Piper.
There were several nice shops and galleries but I felt like I was paying Tourist Prices and mainly there were so many cafes and restaurants.
So we thought we would explore the rest of town and we found a great little bookshop Squishy Mini, an amazing little handmade shop called The Old Auction House that had some galleries in the space too, an incredible kids park in beautiful botanical gardens, an affordable dinner at The Pizza and Wine Club and then a great nightcap at Dr Abalone.
Make sure you explore the whole town not just one street.

Don't waste your time driving to Kyneton for a day trip with the family. We could not find a cafe with an inviting atmosphere. They're all over priced and pretentious. The Kyneton Bakery was open but choosing this was a bad mistake. The pie was cold, sausage rolls hard and stale, but gets better....no plates left and were told to eat on the paper bags. The late was terrible, made by an amateur with no idea about the basics of coffee. It was served in a cappuccino cup to the brim and spilled by the waiter, weak, hot and no crema – very typical of country bakeries outside Melbourne. I keep hoping standards will improve over the years but continue to get let down. Overall, boring town, bad food and will not return ever again.

Dear council

Spend some money or encourage the shop fronts to be painted etc. The street is looking tatty in some places.

Spent a lovely morning strolling through interesting shops with such friendly staff member's finishing up with a late brunch. Such a relaxing day - although I was burdened by some purchases

Honestly, I am very unsure as to why Piper Street is considered a place to go. Over priced shops that you could find in Melbourne. Average places to eat.

Only unique place to shop is the amazing nursery and as far as food goes, yes there are some lovely restaurants and a few overpriced 'antique' (junk) stores but you may as well stay in Melbourne, visit the inner South East suburbs and avoid the expense of fuel.

I will say Dhaba at the Old Mill is great as you can see inside the old bluestone building.

Unless you are in Kyneton for other reasons, I really wouldn't bother making a special trip to visit the infamous Piper Street.

Had lunch and walked piper st shops ,found some unique products from the shops ,unusual plants from the two nurseries ,a nice jumper from the artist coop and don't even want to known how much material and print the growler had in her shopping bags a good way to spend a Sunday .
One thing I did note that on entering every shop you were welcomed by the staff .

Piper Street in the regional town of Kyneton has much to offer. Old buildings, an eclectic range of stores, six or more very good restaurants and an easy place to stroll for an hour or so, or spend a lazy couple of hours over lunch or dinner.
The rest of Kyneton is very much down to earth and down to business, but Piper Street has charm

We counted 12 restaurants and cafes along Piper Street and fab boutique shopping. My favourite being Highbury Etc a shop dedicated to sizes 16 - 22 a real spoil for we curvy girls who like to shop! A great range of labels from designers from overseas and Australia. A real surprise find in country Victoria. They also have a shop catering for sizes 8-14, Highbury Mix.

A great day out.
