Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had been told this was a lovely walk and it was. We went over the top through the huge boulders. The view from the top was so peaceful. Then we went down the otherside and around the base. It was a good 2.5 hour stint but the tracks were good and not too steep. If you are quiet you can see heaps of birds. We also saw kangaroos, a wallaby and an Echidna!

We visited this place not knowing what to expect but got a pleasant surprise. We followed the green route and enjoyed it all. The rocks were amazing. Can't wait to return.

3 different walks to suit differing abilities. The longest walk circles the entire reserve and takes about an hour. Some interesting plant life and rock formations

We came across Black Hill reserve as we were driving through Kyneton and decided to have a look. We were the only visitors at the time, so we had the place to ourselves. We did the Ridge walk up to the top, which was not necessarily a hard walk, but it is up hill, lots of rocks to walk on / over, and some parts of the track had trees fallen over it. Take a bottle of water with you if its a hot day! The view from the top is well worth it, and some great rock formations to check out too. I only wish we'd seen the map before we started our walk, not at the end!
We even managed to see a herd of kangaroos as we were driving out!

The owners of the farm we stayed in took us on this walk up the hill, for a nice unblock view of the area. Alone the path, we saw lots of wild flowers and a echidna. There were several paths, the path we took was about 30minutes walk at a gradual incline. Not difficult at all. Was told there are more challenging paths but the view is not as great at the top.
In the evening, we drove by to the entrance to catch sight of the kangaroos the frequently transverse pass that area.
It is a nice place to visit for a outdoor walk away from urban.

Black hill Reserve is a sacred space for me..
my childhood was spent exploring every last inch of the reserve while my father painstakingly restored eroded areas back to their former glory and set about making it a family destination for all. The plaque at the front bearing his name is a fittingly informative reminder of my childhood.
Making memories in the beautiful Bushland setting is what Blackhill Reserve is all about.
Take a visit and enjoy...

Spent about 2 hours or so and did the ridge track and the base track. Kids really enjoyed it. Ridge track was easy for our kids (youngest was 5 years old). Returning around the base track we saw three echidnas and were able to get up close to two of them.

My hubby and I really enjoyed this place. It's a very pleasant walk with really interesting rocks- it looks like aliens were once there, the rocks are like spaceships.
We did the green track- very easy to follow

Easy walk to a nice viewpoint. It was summer when we did the walk so very dry. It was also recommended by the lady that ran the B&B it was a good suggestion

Pleasantly unexpected natural granite formation along easy walk within bush setting. Gorgeous views and short stroll to Kyneton Ridge Estate Winery. Both highly recommended!
