Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Spend a lovely hour or two on well maintained tracks around the base or up and over the top. Beautiful views of surrounding countryside from various lookouts.

Went to walk off brunch in a short spell of dry weather today!! really intersting Australian landscape, with huge boulders, lots of native shrubs and trees, and i saw a wallaby!! very cute! there are short and long, easy and harder walks, i chose the short easy walk!! very close to kyneton, easy to get to, would recommend.

We regularly walk out at Blackhill, and it is lovely across the seasons. Both the loop walk and the ridge walk are worth the effort, with fantastic views at the top of the ridge, and you could combine the two for a more substantial walk, or just do the base loop in approx an hour.
Plenty of wildlife, we’ve seen many birds, kangaroos and occasionally an echidna.

Black hill Reserve is a sacred space for me..
my childhood was spent exploring every last inch of the reserve while my father painstakingly restored eroded areas back to their former glory and set about making it a family destination for all. The plaque at the front bearing his name is a fittingly informative reminder of my childhood.
Making memories in the beautiful Bushland setting is what Blackhill Reserve is all about.
Take a visit and enjoy...

So nice area for an hour+ walk. You can bring your dogs as well. Good parking and tables/benches for your picnic. Easy to follow signs. Loots of birds and flowers. Even saw an echidna.

We combined the ridge walk and circuit walk and enjoyed the experience greatly - a few steepish sections but very navigable. Beautiful bush surroundings and great views.

We visited this place not knowing what to expect but got a pleasant surprise. We followed the green route and enjoyed it all. The rocks were amazing. Can't wait to return.

Spent about 2 hours or so and did the ridge track and the base track. Kids really enjoyed it. Ridge track was easy for our kids (youngest was 5 years old). Returning around the base track we saw three echidnas and were able to get up close to two of them.
