About
The Old Auction House is an independent multi-use arts precinct home to two Galleries with rotating shows in the Main Gallery of established local and Australian artists, while the Community Gallery has a range of solo and group exhibitions showcasing emerging Australian artists and community groups. Our Australian Handmade giftshop displays of the Best of Australian Handmade markets under one roof and is open 7 days a week, to ensure that you find the perfect keepsake of your trip for yourself or to take home to family. We have four working artist studios including local glass artists Leadlight By Ettore who run 6 term classes a week plus weekend workshops and a teaching space from which visiting artists teach a variety of art forms. Our space is open 7 days a week and is accessible for wheelchairs, walkers and prams.

Come on Regional Victoria, I know there is a pandemic, but if we don't support these businesses they will not survive it!
I wandered in here on the 16th January and social distancing really wasn't an issue because in this really large space, I was the ONLY person! ? If you are looking for a place to go to ... to get out of your own space, this is it.
There is a gallery to one side and there is a mix of locally made items on the other. Also at the Auction House is a huge collection of art supplies for anyone wanting to dabble with art.
Because this is away from the busy hub areas in Kyneton you also will find it easy to get a carpark on weekends to go here. It's street parking but as the other small businesses in this area are mostly closed for the weekend... you will be in like Flynn! Errol Flynn, of course.
The staff are super friendly and happy to answer questions about any item, or to assist you with purchasing art supplies.

A great art gallery and shop. It was so nice to see so many wonderful handmade craft and giftware by local artist. We enjoyed our stroll through the galleries and was impressed with the variety of class being offered to adults and children. The staff were amazing. I will be enrolling my daughters in a school holiday class that’s on offer. Highly recommended if you are visiting Kyneton.

Went in today looking for handmade local art and gifts, was not disappointed. Absolutely loved the gallery and shop. It was beautiful and so were the two lovely ladies there! Will definitely be back again!

A fantastic little shop of unique handmade wares with really interesting gallery shows in their 2 galleries. The staff were lovely and it was great to see them working in the leadlighting studio. Best of all was the entire space was lovely and cool on such a hot day!
