- Mara M5 contributionsGreat fun for all ages.Funky farm was a really great experience. We went with our two young children (2 and 4 year old). The experience was enjoyable as well as educational. It was a small tour group where we were show all the different animals and got turns at getting close to them, feeding them and even holding some. Would highly recommend this experience to others.Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten 31 March 2024
- samahern123Melbourne, Australia13 contributionsUnique experience for the whole familyHad the most wonderful time at Funky Farm. I have taken many of my disability clients who have all loved the experience. Skye was very friendly and knowledgeable and helped make my client's experience memorable. Of course Chris and Sammy were as passionate and inclusive with my client too. Would recommend Funky Farm as a very unique wildlife farm to visit.Visited April 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 5 April 2024
- JodieWMelbourne, Australia7 contributionsThe Funky FarmWe had the best time at The Funky Farm and would recommend it to anyone seeking a unique animal encounter experience. We are a family of four- our two boys are a little shy and Amos our guide was really lovely with them - encouraging and patient and allowing them time to work up the courage to hold some of the animals. This was really appreciated. The tour was pitched just right for both adults and children. The information was engaging and fun and learning about how each animal became a member of the Funky Family was really interesting too. You can see how well loved the animals are by their interactions with the staff and the anecdotes Amos told us about some of the more cheeky members of the gang!! (The kids liked the story about the Dingoes!) It’s also great to see how inclusive The Funky Farm is- everybody is welcome and the whole tour is wheelchair accessible. All in all a lovely experience and would recommend to all.Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 13 April 2024
- Joy D3 contributionsBrilliant ExperienceHaving done a few sanctuaries around Queensland and NSW, I thought this would just be another version of those but on a smaller scale. Essentially it was, but what really made it brilliant was the tour guide and the ethos behind the setup. I was absolutely blown away by the family feel and the knowledge that was shared but mostly the purpose for them being there. The pathways program sounds fantastic, and I'm recommending this place because they NEED all the support they can get to continue the fantastic work they are doing!Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 14 April 2024
- Penny GMelbourne, Australia1 contributionLots of animal handling, furry and scales, lots of photo ops tooIt was great! I wasn’t sure what we would get for our money but all the hands on animal contact was so well presented for all ages. I was so impressed with the handler who helped a teenage girl overcome her fear of the blue tongue. She went on to hold the dragon, snake and the crocodile. I loved the lack of a gift shop too, much to the disgust of my granddaughter, but this made the 90 mins we spent there so much more affordable. We will be back.Visited May 2024Travelled with familyWritten 1 June 2024
- Jess L1 contributionFANTASTIC. Animal comfort and safety put first!!!! Very accessible. My kids love animals but I've been struggling to find somewhere to bring them where I'm comfortable with how they treat the animals. Funky Farm is fabuloussss. Great experience for my 2 year old - Unlike the zoo she was actually able to see the animals, and lots of safe space for her to run around and play. She had the opportunity to pat the animals, but unlike other places I've been, the animals had plenty of space to get away if they wanted - and attentive staff making sure the animals were kept safe and comfortable. All areas very accessible for prams and clean and stocked up baby change areas. Fantastic place. Just wish it was closer to my house so we could be more regular!Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 31 July 2024

- Candice E1 contributionThe best!!Good afternoon Just wanted to give some feedback on two of your team members Carissa and Skye Today although raining they both did an excellent job of educating and keeping everyone entertained. Carissa never missed a beat a wealth of knowledge. Even though some guests spoke during her talks ( which was a bit rude ) She manage to teach my girls something different about every animal and really showed us how much the funky farm is doing to help all these animals love and care for them. Carissa was kind and patient with all the guests and Skye ensured everyone got great photos had umbrellas and everyone was safe And was generally a really nice person. I really applaud all your staff from the moment we stepped out the car so welcoming and unreal customer service. Please pass my feedback on to the girls they were amazing and we will be telling everyone we know to visit!! Kind regards Candice Maddie and Caits xxVisited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 30 September 2024
- Melanie PMelbourne, Australia11 contributionsFabulous, highly recommend!Fabulous! The small group tour is such a fabulous way to see & interact with the animals. The guides are so informative, passionate, friendly and knowledgeable - they make sure everyone gets to interact, are conscious of different people's needs/fears and so generous with their knowledge and photo-taking skills! Thank you, highly recommend and so lucky to have this awesome place on the Peninsula too.Visited October 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 12 October 2024

What a treat to go to a sanctuary that is personalised and intimate and gives the guests a real, up close and personal experience with the lovely animals!
Our two lovely guides were friendly, knowledgeable and patient with all the different levels of comfort of the guests. The group was only about 10 or 12 people of all ages and this ensured that no was waiting too long for anyone's turn to come around to hold or pet the animals.
From my 67 year old mum's bravery in carrying a snake for the first time in her life, to my 8 year old daughter's delight in meeting a dingo (and the sanctuary's resident blue heeler...there was something for everyone!
The session is 90 minutes long and is predominantly sitting with some gentle short strolls between displays. I would definitely recommend visiting this wonderful little farm. I would also like to hugely commend the owners for their passion and commitment to the well being of animals in need.

We highly recommend the funky farm to anyone who wants to get up close to kangeroos, wombats, emus, koalas, reptiles and more. It is ran in small intimate groups and the staff are full of knowledge and interesting facts and very kind and enthusiastic. The owners were present through out and really showed their care for the animals and for staff and visitors. They cater for all abilities, it is wheelchair accessible and there is a wheelchair toilet. We had such a wonderful time.

A great and intimate experience up close and personal with the animals and reptiles. Loads of detail about the animals if asked and I liked the caution of danger for the children and respect for people’s fears. It was very hands on. They treat and know their animals really well. All felt very safe. I took my 74 yo mother and she was dubious but really enjoyed the experience.
Very good handlers
Very good staff
Very good animals
Enclosures a work in progress
First impressions minimalist, not commercial, little that is there they do well.
Didn’t see a shop or any merchandise which was very refreshing

It was the perfect day for this trip. The staff taking the tour were very knowledgeable and took their time ensuring everyone had a great experience with all of the animals.
It’s a very cheap way of being able to interact and have photos taken with various animals.
Happy that this farm also rescues animals and gives them a chance at a decent life.

Absolutely amazing! If you love animals this is a day out that will exceed expectations. We pulled up not knowing what to expect.
From 5 mins in we were stroking an emu, holding a blue tongue lizard, meeting the wombats and unbelievably stroking a sugar glider. The dingo was so friendly. From start to finish an amazing intimate animal experience. Just go!

My daugter and I took our lovelies, Eloise 4, and Lily 18months together with my 95year old Mum ... we had the BEST experience ... Our guides Carissa and Chris were so knowledeable and friendly. Only a small group - probably 16=18 parents and kids. 10am to 11.30, perfect time for littlies to look and see, but not to long enough for them to be fractformation. ious, both girls were enthralled the whole time.
I've been to Melbourne Zoo and Werribee Zoo, and honestly this was far better, we got to see animals close up and pat lot of them, plus personalised attention

I would definitely recommend the Funky Farm to all of my friends and family. Staff were very friendly from when we entered the car park, to when we left and said goodbye. My toddler and baby were a bit young to understand the conversations about each animal but they loved seeing them up close. Although my 6 month old daughter was in her pram, our tour guide brought the animals so she could have a close look. I will definitely be coming back when the kids are a bit older. Loved the day, hands- on, great pace and you can see how happy the animals all are. Thank you again to the staff at Funky Farm!

What a fabulous place…. You get greeted getting out if the car..then a lovley tour with your guide, (very small
Groups) with information about the making of the farm and what they have planned, they have tons of information about every animal…you get to touch / hold almost every animal without feeling rushed and they even take pics for you on your phone. I have 16 &14 yrs old who loved it too….we go to lots of these types of places and this one is well worth a visit. Love supporting local and they are VERY invested in the wellbeing and conservation of their animals. The staff where fabulous. Its small but well thought out and put together.. the tour was 1 1/2 hours and we enjoyed every bit of it.
Thanks and we will
Come back when we are next in Melbourne.

We took our two kids (5&7yo) and had the best day out. Kris, Chris, Sam and the whole team were so professional, hilarious and so incredibly informative. You can tell the animals at The Funky Farm are well cared for and adored by the staff. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to not only see animals but also wanting to know more about Australian animals. We can’t wait to get back to the farm when the expansion is open. What an incredible program they will be running with NDIS to get people into the workforce!
