The NED KELLY MUSEUM is part of KATE'S COTTAGE GIFTS SOUVENIRS MUSEUM & replica of the KELLY HOMESTEAD. Step through back of shop to the NED KELLY MUSEUM and an authentic replica of the Kelly Homestead... like the words of the song ... truly the "ramshackle hut" . Excellent historic coverage of the Kelly era. Rated 'The Best Ned Kelly Museum" by Getaway and featured on their show at least three times. Somehow this one business has two separate listing for TripAdvisor reviews. Would you kindly take the time to review both KATE'S COTTAGE and the NED KELLY MUSEUM ? Thanks to all travellers who took the time to review us.

It was unfortunate that it was such a hot day when we visited but it is a very interesting museum, giving a reasonably balanced account of this episode in Australia's history. The replica of the Kelly Homestead (Ned's parents' home) gave an excellent flavour of...More

Thank you for taking the time to give us such a detailed review. That is particularly helpful for the traveller who is trying to decide whether to stop or not. Kids do love the cheeky talking cockatoos. The backpackers do too but we suspect that...More

Thank you so much Charelle . We had record numbers through for March and April so keeping our prices for families @ $9.00 per adult and $1.00 for kids up to and including 16 years is proving to be affordable. Some visitors are in and...More

We ventured into this museum before heading up the street to the animated show (not recommended) and was warmly welcomed. For a small entrance fee we wandered around quite a few artefacts either owned by the Kelly family or from that era. Nice having the...More

Find this difficult to write without appearing rude, but the whole place looked like it was in a time warp and I couldn't wait to get out. I know times were different in the 19th century but I can't believe they never cleaned the cottage.More

Hi You are correct that you should feel like you are in a time warp as was intended. Some folks freak out at the sight of spider webs and there certainly are a few of those. As the song said " Ned Kelly lived in...More
