About
Gurneys' Cidery overlooks Corner Inlet and the wilderness of Wilsons Promontory National Park. We are situated on 70 acres of farmland and have around 6000 heritage cider apple trees. Gurneys specialise in producing traditional dry ciders and serve local cheeses and meats. Gurneys is a must visit on the way to the Prom. We are a working farm, unfortunately this means that no pets are allowed.

It is our wedding anniversary and I had a dental appointment in the morning in Foster and we were looking forward to having a pleasant lunch break after the appointment. Gurneys had been recommended to us and I had been wanting to visit here for quite a while so this was the perfect opportunity. Firstly the setting is spectacular with views over to Wilson's Prom and sloping flower gardens leading down to the orchards. The building itself fits well into the landscape with lots of windows for visitors to take advantage of the views. There is seating outside but we sat in the conservatory even though it was a lovely day. We were met at the entrance by staff who welcomed us and took us through the Covid requirements before we walked through the door. We were invited to sit where ever and given a brief explanation of their offerings and ordering procedures. We found a table by the window and I went up to put our order in. We chose a $20 cider tasting paddle and a meat and cheese platter for lunch. The selection on the platter was all local produce with a good mix of meat. cheese, fruits and dips with biscuits and breads for serving. The cider tasting paddle had 6 of their ciders for us to try and while neither Robb nor I are fans of cider we did enjoy a couple of them. When the ciders were presented to us we were instructed on the different varieties and we photographed the notes so that we could read it as we went. The platter was plenty for the two of us for lunch and we left here very happy with the experience. So on all levels, quality, experience, service and value we would have to give full marks.

I did a cider paddle which was very interesting and Rhonda had a glass of Freisling ( a slushie with Riesling cider added) apparently we now need a slushie machine. We also shared a charcuteris board. It was anextremely hot day but very comfortable inside.

Only visited the “cellar door” not the restaurant but were very impressed with prompt attention and information given about all products.
Purchasing was made easy and discounts given for more than one item.
Friendly staff, vigilant about covid safety, next time we are in the area we will linger longer over a meal

While traveling the coast with a taste for a good local cider we visited Gurneys near Foster in northern Victoria
Wonderful staff and great views BUT after tasting 8 different types of cider I craved a dry non sweet apple
Was not available to me. So I was encouraged to purchase an old long neck bottle of wild and other just apple.
SHOCKED at $70 for 3.
Made more disappointed by their unpalatable taste.
I enjoy a dry apple cider and have enjoyed them in a vast amount of places.
Let’s return to local boutique ciders that contain apple Please
Why change a near perfect product for change sake

Thanks so much for your review. Here is a list of the award winning dry apple only ciders we produce at Gurneys Cidery:
1. Gurneys Proper Dry
2. Gurneys Scrumpy
3. Gurneys Arc De Gurneys
4. Gurneys Little Frenchy
5. Gurneys Kingston Black
6. Gurneys Sturmer Pippin
7. Gurneys Ice Cider
8. Gurneys Wild
9. Gurneys Gold (Medium Dry)
Gurneys Ciders are as authentic as they come and all lovingly hand crafted from heirloom local apples. The Wild cider has 0g/l of sugar and as a result has a white wine-esque texture, soft lactic tartness and subtle spice, it pairs exquisitely with all things cheese. You are in fact very lucky to have a bottle as it has since sold out!
I think the confusion stems from other producers which claim their ciders are 'dry', but in reality actually have substantial amounts of sugar added, flavourings, sterilising agents and are fermented from concentrate not apples. These ciders comprise 90% of the Australian market and have definitely impacted consumers understanding of what constitutes cider in Australia.
I think this is the magic of Gurneys Cidery, It offers an unrivalled authenticity that surprises many of what cider is and can be.
Feel free to call me if you want to discuss and of the above & thanks for visiting the home of Gippsland Cider!
P.S Next time you visit try Gurneys Gold - I reckon this is the cider for you! =D

These people know what they are doing. Their enthusiasm is contagious. They obviously love what they are doing and have a clear vision for the future. Their ciders are exceptional and in my option, unique. They are at the beginning of their journey and without doubt this venue will be a magnet for visitors in the near future. They have gone to extraordinary lengths to make your visit memorable. Would recommend a visit if you are in the area.

Gurney's Cider was a professional and well-run place that presented their ciders well in an interesting tasting 'flight" accompanied by a tasty grazing platter. Prices may have been a little high but overall a very good experience in a great set up. Staff were switched on and friendly and the views were excellent

What a surprise! We were welcomed at the front of the area by a really nice guy and shown to a table in the sunshine. We were given menus and my four friends opted for tasting paddles consisting of four different ciders. All agreed the ciders were delicious and a good choice. I opted for the non-alcoholic cider as I was driving however apparently the four tasting basically equated to 1.5 normal drinks. The cider was very good and the service excellent and so friendly. Cheese and other platters were available and looked good but we didn’t try as we had just had lunch. Strongly recommended for something really different especially on a nice sunny day.

We always enjoy a weekend at Gurneys cidery. The staff are so exceptionally friendly and hospitable. The dry ciders are delicious and reshape our expectations of what cider should be. We particularly enjoyed the Saturday night summer music out under the stars. Highly recommend!

Never had a cider tasting platter before! It’s a new and interesting experience for me. The guy (I think he owns the place) greeted us at the front door and he’s a very lovely man. The waiter also knows what he’s talking about and has the knowledge about different types of ciders. The cheese platter is also very tasty!
I wanted to buy a cider but I find it quite pricey. It’s in big bottles with bottle caps you can’t put back on.
The experience is very interesting. I’ll bring some friends back into this place.

Hat’s off to Gurneys for exceptional customer service with a great product. Everything was explained clearly from the get go. We were greeted at the door & made to feel very welcome. Our tasting paddle of ciders was brought out quickly and explained followed by our ploughman’s lunch which was sourced locally and showcased the beautiful Gippsland produce.
With a lovely outdoor area it’s a great place to bring the kids and equally good for couples.
