Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have to admit I read the reviews on TripAdvisor and I was a wee bit fascinated , so today I drove out to Foster to find this Art Gallery . I find myself attracted to earthy colours and I have been looking for a talking piece for the entry to my home.

I walked past the Art Gallery not once, but twice! There is very pretty streetscape so if you aren't looking at the shop frontage and expect it to jump out... it might not do that. However it's located right next door to their historic pub...so it is easy to locate. And how did I walk past it... well it was closed!

I had no idea it was closed when I walked into a nearby cafe to have lunch... Cow Cow... and asked the lady where it was so I could find it after lunch. Imagine my delight when it turns out that the lovely lady in the cafe, Anne... is also the owner of the gallery. She explained to me that it was closed. I was willing to accept I had missed out and just have lunch and head home... but after my meal, Anne opened this gallery just for me.

The gallery appeals to my earthy side... I loved the natural pigments. For me, it reflected Anne... that natural authenticity. She also has an Earth Pigment Painting Starter Kit on offer for $60 which would make a great gift for someone artistic, or simply a great chance to start your art career. :)

So this is where I need to thank two people... Firstly a massive thank you to Anne for opening her gallery. There is a chance that I would have just looked around... but this is where the second thank you comes into play... I fell in love with a work... I felt it was the perfect talking piece for my front entry to my home. So the second thank you is to the artist... Sue Gilford. I know nothing about the Artist except what I was told by Anne and that is that she showed work in the National Gallery of Australia. So now I have my 'boab pod' picture... and I really do love it.

Look, this sort of earth based art isn't my thing but for sheer uniqueness and the surprise of seeing something like this in little ol' Foster makes it well worth the time to check out. The class is most assuredly above your usual pretentious twaddle churned out by hobby artists in small towns and even if you don't buy anything you'll be certain to see something that amuses or interests you.

Certainly worthwhile if you find yourself strolling down the main street of Foster.

You don’t have to go to the cities to see world class art. YEPgallery will inspire, and you’ll be treated to the works of local artisans. There is more to Foster than meets the eye and YEPgallery is one of their treasures. Have fun.

If you would like to take home something unique, locally made and sustainable, you are in the right place. This gallery is truly unique, I highly recommend it! Earth pigment paintings are something I have never seen before. Several local artists using the same materials express themselves in creating one of the kind artworks. This gallery is for people appreciating natural beauty, Wabi-sabi and mindful approach in decorating your home with minimalist style art. Gallery also has local woodwork, pottery and unique felted tapestries by Zetta Kanta.
Celebrated artists include owner Anne Roussac-Hoyne, award-winning pyrography extraordinaire Sue Gilford, Julie Lundgreen Coulter, Helga Binder, Gulio Marcolongo, Lucy Hersey, Lisa Barham-Lomax.
