Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Had a fantastic experience getting local advice around bushwalks from the Eastern Dandenong visitors centre after struggling to decide using the online site. Always better to call direct than try to use info boards or the website as volunteers have more current info on what’s best for weather conditions and personal fitness. Thanks Lynn the volunteer!

Had an afternoon to spare so we dropped into the Visitor Information Centre conveniently located at Emerald Puffing Billy station in the beautiful original station building. The lovely staff provided us with information about walks and local attractions in the Eastern Dandenong Ranges area. We also got to see Puffing Billy steam by. Well worth a visit!

This is a nice little visitor center with friendly staff and helpful information about the area. There is a lot to see and plenty of nice natural scenery away from the city. Worth a stop to learn about the area and get ideas of things to do.

My family and I received the most unbelievable service from Lynne at Eastern Dandenong Ranges Business & Tourism.
We had been on Puffing Billy and due to a number of issues we missed the train to Gembrook - the one and only train...
After discussing our options to get to Gembrook Lynne did what was totally unexpected and totally amazing and drove us to Gembrook so that we could take the return trip from Gembrook back to Belgrave... A plus service and very appreciated. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, Lynne you made our weekend!!!!!

6 of us went on a tour on Puffing Billy. We intended to stop at Emerald station, stroll through the park, have a picnic, and board the train again at Lakeside station back to Belgrave.

Alas! We alighted from the train and were at a lost of how to proceed as there were no obvious signs and the map that we have picked up did not show us how to get there.

The lady at the visitor centre, Lynna, was just taking a bite off her sandwich when I interrupted her to ask for directions. She showed no signs of irritation and was very helpful in pointing us to the right way. She even recommended her preferred trail to us. We are very thankful for her help!

We eventually found our way and we enjoyed the train ride very much. Thank you to all the volunteers who kept the train and stations in operation!
