Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have visited here before and and unfortunately the colour was not as vivid this time as it was then, probably because of all the rain they have had.

The lake wasn’t pink but it’s close to the highway with plenty of parking so worth a visit if Yu happen to drop by. Try access to the lake is not pathed so not suitable for wheelchair access or rainy days. The lake smelt like rotten fish but apparently its bacteria in the water that gives it a pink colour. There is a shaded sitting area and public toilets.

Visited in Jan 2023. We've visited before and it's been an amazing attraction HOWEVER... Be warned... Currently it's too full and there is no "pink" visible, nor is there much salt. It smells like something is dead in it and there are plenty of organisms swimming around, so be careful. The salt/sand is black mud so you are really unable to brush your feet in it. Save yourself the trip, it's not worth it at the moment.

Fascinating pink salt lake at the side of the highway. Short walk down to the lake. Never seen anything like it in person before. Worth a stop on the way,

It's actually pink!! We've seen some other 'pink' lakes in our travels and this one was the pinkest. It's minutes from the highway so it's worth a stop to have a look.

The Pink Lake is a good example of a Wimmera Salt Lake and on this occasion it was circled by pink salt and full of water which is fairly rare.. It is t=right at the highway and worthy of a look.

This beautiful salt lake is right on the highway so there is no excuse for missing it.

Just pop into the rest stop, wander down and check it out. It is amazing.

This attraction exceeded our expectations. It is free to enter and walk on the salt lake. With Covid and the resulting absence of overseas tourists, it is also not crowded and makes for a pleasant natural experience. The pink hues on the lake are fascinating and a photographer's delight. Definitely don't miss this attraction.
