Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We mainly visited this location for Bird Spotting and weren’t disappointed. Lovely walk by the river. Drop Toilet facilities.

Horseshoe Bend was a pleasant place packed with campers alongside the River and typical of the bushy scrubland around the Dimboola area. It has its charm.

Nice quite place even with all the tourist over the easter weekend. There is a good water supply on the Dimboola River for fishing and canoeing

This is a beautiful river with some sandy beach parts to go for a swim. It also has great fishing if you so inclined. Beautiful big gum trees for shade and just adds to the nature of the river

Right on the river, toilets nearby, table and chairs provided, camp fire place in every site! A great setup for a great weekend! Fishing, swimming, in the river, sitting back chilling at the campsite.. awesome. No powered sites, fees to be paid before you go - book it online. No worries! Can be busyish around popular weekends/ holidays, but most people keep to themselves, not too noisy. We had a great trip there, close to home which was great. Dimboola has a supermarket and most convenience shops a few minutes drive if you run out of something. Otherwise you'd never notice just how close this is to anywhere, it's in the little desert national park, good base for adventure.

We were camping at Kiata and went 4WDrivig through Little Dessert. We came across along Pump Jump Track and past Pomponderoo Hill before reaching the Wimmera River.
You can see why the camping area is called Horseshoe Bend as it is located right on a big bend in the river.
There are lots of camp sites but be careful that you don't put your tent up under one of the River Red Gums as they have been known to fall. There are signs warning you of this.
There is a picnic area, a toilet block and access steps to the river for launching a kayak or going for a swim.
You do have to pay camping fees at this site through National Parks but it is certainly a picturesque spot to visit.
