Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There are plenty of beaches along the Murray and especially in this part of the river. But this is probably the most visitor friendly beach around. It features plenty of grassed area, toilets, foot showers like at an ocean beach and a cafe. The kids loved the playground and shallow water

We visited on the weekend to take a Murray River cruise. Can see why this spot is so popular. One of many natural beaches along the Murray but this spot also has a cafe and plenty of shaded picnic areas.

A must see on the Murray River

Lies on a beautiful Murray river bend. Great place to have a picnic, swim or general rest-and-watch. Amusing that cafe on grounds changes name near every 1-2 years ... now The Shack. Enjoyed my visit playing with kids, book reading or simply having a takeaway coffee in picturesque Aussie setting.

Hidden gem in winter with hardly a soul about. Beautiful flora and fauna, interesting tree carving and iron works. Probably a different feel in warmer months with more tourists and noise around. Excellent bushwalking and bird watching, even a sleepy koala or two.

Great little place tucked away but well worth a visit for a meal. Beautiful view while dining, the soft shell crab is to die for, a must to try. Service great, but I would suggest booking if a large group especially in the warmer months.

We just happened to call in on one of busiest days of the year. It was an annual kayak race supported by the police and so the place was packed. Everyone was having a great time and lots swimming and cheering on the rivalling teams. There was even a koala in the trees watching the activity.

Great little spot on the Murray River. A big piece of white sand to play. We didn't swim but the kids had a good time just playing

A lovely place to just sit and watch the river go by. River was extremely low so lots of sand. Paddle boat beached on the mud and not operating due to low water level.

Lovely spot to stop and unwind with lunch.

The Murray is there for a quick dip and there are plenty of amenities and a shop for you to make a day of it at Thompson Beach.
