Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I went to this place not expecting too much but in the end became fascinated with the great age of some of the bottles and their evolution in design over time. There were many memories of bottles now long gone from the marketplace as well as host of curious objects. The tall, bearded guide there who was an obvious bottle enthusiast infected us with some of his enthusiasm as he pointed us around the exhibition. If you are Clunes - do not skip this - the building alone is a cracker.

We went in and paid the $3 entry fee not really knowing what to expect. We ended up spending an hour there and found the exhibits quite interesting and really photogenic.

not a lot to see. it has a range of old and not so old bottles and a few other bits and pieces. doesnt take you long to go through the place costs 3.00 a person to enter. i wouldnt take little ones in there as they do have glass bottles out of the cabinets.

We visited this site because it sounded quirky - a museum of 6,000 bottles? We expected to walk around quickly and get back on the road. Wow are we glad we hung out in the playground for those thirty minutes, waiting for it to open!
For the kids it was a bit interesting but it didn't keep their attention for so long. However, Steve, one of the volunteers started talking to us and he was hard to stop. Which was fine, because he gave us a run down of the history of glass and bottles (and some of the history of Clunes too). Who knew why beer always comes in brown glass?? We didn't! What a passionate, informed man he is! We learned a lot.
The museum is set out beautifully and was much more interesting than we expected. I particularly liked the machinery display showing how aerated soft drinks used to be made. And who knew there were so many interesting bottles!
Very cute, very informative, and well worth a visit.
