Enjoyed an overnight stay right next to the lagoon. Quiet spot, walking distance to town centre. 3 hotels but only one did lunches. The meal from the Glenelg Inn was woeful. Town has the most amazing variety of architecture. Lots of Art Deco.
On visit to Casterton saw sign to this lagoon and decided to take a look. What a lovely area so close to town with picnic tables available under beautiful river red gums. Spotted a family out fishing with their children. Really worth a visit.
The Ess Lagoon is a lovely place to visit. It has Lot of trout and Redfin in it if you like fishing. The kids will love it .
It is also a lovely spot for camping , which is free , for caravans or tents...More
Whilst visiting Casterton, we decided to drive around this great little town in Western Victoria. We came across this picturesque & quite lagoon which is on the town's "Kelpie Walking Trail". We understand the lagoon is stocked with trout for those people keen on fishing.
