Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Current Covid-19 lockdown restrictions in Melbourne allow travel up to 10 kilometers from our house to local parks for exercise.

My wife and I drove here for some exercise, fresh air and sunshine.

We walked around the 1 km walking trail a few times.

This is a well maintained and relatively large park with a playground, a pond and some facilities for sports.

Box Hills Gardens are a large urban garden, near the Box Hill hospital. It's near the Box Hill shopping strip. It has two playgrounds, a duck pond, war memotial and basketball and netball courts. Box Hill is 9 miles (14 kms) from the Melbournde CBD. Many artists in the 19th and early 20th century came to Box Hill to paint, as it was the end of the tram line, a long way from suburbia. The Box Hill has an enviable collection of Australian Impressionalist paintings, collected when Box Hill was a focal point of Australian art.

Box Hill is a residential area 14 km (9 miles) from the centre of Melbourne. Box Hill Gardens are a pleasant place to relax, not far from the Box Hill Hospital. The lake hosts diverse kinds of water birds. In the 1890s, Box Hill was an outer suburb dominated by bushland. Many young Australian artists spent their holidays and weekends here gathering to paint among the gum trees.

Great to relax in, for walks or for kids to play. Recently renovated in last couple of years with new seating, pavement, improved pond area with bridge. . Beautiful, nature pond area for ducks/wildlife. Park fairly large, can walk through to next block. Also Great to unwind/relax/ refresh during/after hospital visit or appointments. Easy access by public transport or short walk from Boxhill station.

Across the road from Epworth EasternPrivate and Box Hill Public Hospitals, relaxing and calming in times of stress to have a short walk with somewhere nice to sit and take in the park especially the duck pond.

We visited here at the start of May and we were somewhat disappointed. It could be so much better with water features and flowering plants and some constructional work to harmonise with it. Someone with a vision needs to take a look at this place and have a plan on how to make it better. It certainly could be with a bit of foresight.
At the moment, it is like a semi-blank canvas for an artist to work on.

My first day in Melbourne and since it was Anzac day I thought I would visit the park.

First impressions are the park is well maintained, clean, safe and full of people just enjoying it. The park is split into different areas. You have a grass area just for chilling, there are barbeque stations, a pond, play area, skateboard park, basketball court and the whole park is surrounded by a 1000m running/jogging / walking track.

Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, it was just a lovely park.

With seating, open space, a duck pond, BBQs, toilets, playgrounds, and basketball hoops, you can say the Box Hill Gardens has much to attract. It is just across the road from the Box Hill Hospital and a short walk from the railway station
