Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

One of a number of good places to visit in Beechworth to help with the historical feel of the old town. Well preserved and a well marked out route through the courthouse.

Timing is everything, right? With time at a premium we had to do with a walk around the Courthouse as it didn't open till later. I really wanted to experience a bit more of Kelly history and actually be in the dock. Either way, it is a beautifully maintained building & great to see that heritage is revered & saved in this little country town. It will be open for many more to admire for generations to come.

A beautifully maintained colonial building in the centre of Beechworth is worth taking a look at. Another part of the Ned Kelly story where he was committed to trial following the siege of Glenrowan. You can do tours of the courthouse and hear more of the story. Early morning is a peaceful time to visit.

Beechworth is packed with history. Lovely old buildings and in wonderful condition. Visit the court house and just go for a walk around the buildings there are some signs to tell you what they are. Old police stables and the old lock up. From here you can walk to the famous bakery and the gaol. You can spend nearly all day exploring and enjoying the town from here. I had the best time here

Lots of information to read and interesting stories. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Stand in the dock where Ned Kelly stood 7th August 1880. The receptionist who greets you is a lovely friendly lady.

It was a very pleasant surprise: extremely well preserved and very well illustrated with a large number of highly informative boards that allow the visitor to get a deep understanding of the building, the people associated with it and the judicial system of the times. Really a great experience.

Beechworth is full of history and interesting places to visit. We joined a Ned Kelly tour through the tourist office which was very informative and gave a thorough overview before we visited the courthouse.

This courthouse is unique and is offers a museum of history with quality, well maintained displays. Some of the items on show are priceless.

Definitely worth a visit.
