Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A wonderful town with heritage buildings, and welcoming locals. The bakery (dog friendly) and pie shops were worth the visit alone. The parks are also lovely. I visited the Information Centre and the staff there were welcoming and informative. Definitely a hidden gem, and I would recommend you put it on your travel to do list.

Such an amazing pocket of Australian history. The telegraph station was very interesting and an opportunity to learn or practice your Morse code. The oral histories were particularly interesting

My wife and I paid for a local tour of this place via the Tourist Information Centre in Beechworth, during our recent holiday where we stayed for 5 nights in Bright.

We viewed the historical buildings from the outside. There was no entry to any of them. The Tour Guide explained the history of these places.

I'm sorry that I waited so long to visit Beechworth! It is a great little town filled with history and the best part is they have preserved a lot of the historical buildings and local character. The precinct has ten attractions in a small area with the gaol, post office & churches all within an easy stroll. Plus many other heritage buildings in town proper. A great way to spend several hours wandering & enjoying the history of this beaut little town with most buildings & attractions sign posted with history detailed!

These are beautifully preserved buildings on the main street of Beechworth. Each building has an information signage at the front explaining its history and significance.

The main street of Beechworth was full of activity as the Golden Horseshoe Festival was on so we didn't get to see into any of the historic buildings, but they look to be in good condition and glow on an autumnal day with golden and red leaves falling.

The Historical Precinct of Beechworth has been retained in its original state and is now well signed and maintained. A series of stone buildings stand between the Old Telegraph Station and the Old Beechworth Goal, once home for Ned and family and friends and include The Wardens Office, with responsibility for licenses and setting the and administering the rules, the Chinese Protectors Office to look over and manage the 4,000 Chinese that lived and worked in the gold fields , The Gold Office that stored the gold and later became a police station and the Court House that did everything court houses did back then.It is worthwhile reading the bronze plaques for each.

This is a 'Living Museum' with a range of historic and significant buildings viewed on your own walking tour. Maps can be obtained from the Visitor Information Centre with information on each 'significant' building. Walking around the Precinct takes only an hour or so leaving enough time to take in all the information. The Precinct is also a photographer's delight and a must see in Northern Victoria.
