Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Arrived keen to purchase a board on the spot & staff would not even show options. Man was very knowledgeable on board information but seemed like was too scared to sell the wrong board he wouldn’t let me look at any. Very disappointed with experience as heard only brilliant things about the store.

Dropped in to purchase a new surfboard for a teen, got the right advice and a good price for a stock board. Great service by the guys on a quiet Sunday in May.
They chucked in a bit of wax and a few little bits as well.
Highly recommend this business.

If you're up for a surf and don't have any gear, then I highly recommend Anglesea Surf Centre. Whether buying or hiring a board, need to hire or buy a wetsuit, this is the place to go.
The staff have fabulous local knowledge and can fill you in on the tides, the best spots to surf and how the day's surf will unfold.
Located in the heart of Anglesea, you can't miss it and there is plenty of parking out the front.
Whether you want to surf in Anglesea, or nearby Torquay, Lorne or the famous Bells Beach, these guys know their stuff.
Don't forget to LOOK UP when you go into the shop - I'll let you discover what I mean. The store is wheelchair friendly and kid friendly.
Food shops nearby and across the road is the Anglesea River and toilets and park.
Enjoy!

How refreshing to visit a store like this with real values and straight talk. Very helpful and obliging. In this fast buck making world where the dollar dictates so much, attitudes of mainstream franchises which a listed on stock exchanges, great to feel human here and treated as a customer should

Been visiting the Anglesea Surf Centre (ASC) for years - great place to just drop in and check out the hard and soft ware. Staff are always helpful with some good ideas (much more so than any of the surf shops in Torquay !!), so 'asc' any questions you like (as silly as these might seem) but beware, it is increasingly busy since the closure of Howard Hughes surf shop (Airey's Inlet). You can get to it via bus (from Geelong, Torquay or Lorne) and ASC is only short distance from several Cafes - so convenient for a relaxing meal or drink. Their costs are reasonable and their second hand supply of hardware always seems good. Highly recommend it !

the Anglesea Surf Centre has a huge variety of boards for sale. All the staff are experienced surfers and can give the right advice on which board is right for you. They also stock plenty of wetties and clothing and surf accesseries.

If you don't like shopping with the big companies in Torquay you are still able to purchase mostly all their products in the small friendly atmosphere of this establishment. It has one of the best ranges about of second hand boards for sale at reasonable prices and you can sell your old board there on consignment. There is also a good sized car park for buyers and the Centre is easily accessible when you are heading for the waves as it is opposite the Anglesea River and a stone's throw away from the Shire Visitor Centre. You'll find a good range of clothing, swimwear and wetsuits for all ages and sizes and if they don't have it they will get it for you. It is worth a look even if you are not intending to shop.

This is an "old school" surf shop - and appears proud of it. You can ask questions of knowledgeable people & get answers that don't condescend. They have a fair range of new surf stuff & a big range of used surfboards. They'll take time to match your ability to a surfboard, if you'll listen. Old fashioned service - a real treat. It has a pretty relaxed feel to the place, while still looking after customers. Nice balance, with no "hard sell", which has kept me going back.
