About
The Rozelle Collectors Market is Sydney's favourite outdoor second hand, bric-a-brac and antique market. Stallholders have been selling their pre-loved wares to an ever expanding audience in the grounds of the Rozelle Public School for over 20 years and the market has developed a reputation as a brilliant spot for a poke about, catch up with friends and to bag some unique finds. This convenient inner-west open air market operates year round and offers a beautiful outdoor setting alongside the historical buildings of the Rozelle Public School that was established in 1877. Browse a huge range of pre-loved antiques, collectibles, fashion, jewellery, art and music, all while being entertained by top notch local performers. And when you're in need of a break, local artisinal providores and international food stalls offer a delicious range of great value food.

Rozelle Markets in Sydney have been a beloved destination for over two decades, attracting both savvy shoppers and curious wanderers. Among the many treasures, as for us, the Himalayan food stall stands out as a true gem. We indulged in their Roti Paratha with Beef Curry and Lentils, topped with a delightful yoghurt tamarind sauce, and their vegan yellow rice with vegetable curry, enhanced by a homemade chili sauce. Every bite was a flavor-packed adventure! We will definitely be back for more. 🌟

We drove from the Blue Mountains just to have a day out in Roselle, and to check out the markets. It mostly seems to be clothes, shoes, some jewellery, bric-a-brac ,books etc. Quite a bit of fashion brand clothes, but you can’t be sure whether they’re real or they’ve just stuck on the brand name. But it’s a pleasant place to walk around and have a little look and very close obviously to the Roselle shops which is great when you need a bit of lunch.

Like so many of Sydney's weekend markets, Rozelle Market started its life in the mid 1970s in the Rozelle Primary School grounds as a way of raising money for the school through hiring spaces. It has now become the leading market in Sydney for recycled and vintage clothing as well as bric-a-brac. Food outlets are also a feature, there is always the Gozleme Lady and the Dim Sum stall, on Sundays the Lebanese food, the drink people where you can have whichever fruit you like squeezed and chilled however you prefer. There is always plenty of coffee and places to sit. A very special feature of this market is the music. Well known groups and singers are retained by the venue to entertain you and there are always two bands, one in the front and one down the back: double the fun. The market is located in what is now a buzzing business precinct. If you get bored with market coffee in cardboard cups you can cross the road to any number of classy venues. So busy is this area that it can support two identical fruit and vegie shops just a couple of doors apart. Rozelle has transcended its humble workman's origins, where the most exciting thing that happened was public transport interchange. These days to even buy into a bedsit in this area is going to set you back just under more than half a million dollars. And that will be without off street parking. The stall holders are a community in themselves. They celebrate together and mourn together. They take community action together. They have their own Christmas parties. You can feel this camaraderie and cohesiveness. They have their own loyal clientele. I like to buy winter woollies from a particular woman. She charges a little extra, but you know she has taken good care of the garments and she will always have a selection of quality items. I like to buy dim sum or gozleme for lunch, it is a bit of a ritual when I am in town. I like the chit chat on the Turkish stall, and I love the sweet nature of the family who have the dim sum stall. We don't have village greens in Sydney. We have no places when communities can come together and get a feel for who they share the space with. That's what local weekend markets do. For example we all did the journey with the woman who was freaked out when she was diagnosed cancer and then we saw her through her chemotherapy. We accompanied her through all of this and I notice that she is still with us, her hair has grown back and there she is, holding her own with the best of them. We need to experience these aspects of our community in order to feel that we belong somewhere, and the place where this happens in Australia is our local weekend markets. Because of its location in Sydney's Inner West it is probably also the most easily accessible weekend market by car, or public transport. There seems to be plenty of parking if you choose to drive. I just love weekend markets.

My particular interest is succulents and I have to say that at Rozelle these are the best value I have found yet. You can get 6 for $25.00 and they are quite a good size with many new offshoots already growing. My go to place for succulents.

We had so much fun here, such a lovely atmosphere. The stall holders were friendly and the food great. Warm food on a cold foggy day was a life saver, but to have it served with so much politeness, smiles and friendliness was both unexpected and really appreciated. We bought quite a few items, not the least a lovely warm coat, it’s so cold here in Sydney when you’re used to qld weather....I would go again when in Sydney absolutely....

I used to have a stall here on and off for years..Recently came back as a buyer and found so many great things..Handbags, shoes, clothing, nic knacks, plants...I found an old painting there years ago i bought for $20.00 and sold it on eBay for $600.00...So you can find some real treasures there...Has a great upbeat atmosphere, sometimes with entertainment and food stalls..Love it there!
