Great day to take the kids out when it's raining, love the underwater perspective of all the fish swimming around and cool penguin shows

Very good presentation of sea life including sharks, turtles, penguins and a thousand different varieties of fish. Little kids love Nemo (or a number of him) easily seen through the glass aquarium and there are interactive things for kids to do. Kids will love to see the fairy penguins in the big tank on the top level as they swim... More

Great aquarium with all sorts of sea life which is actually visible in the tanks (try locating a squid in aquariums in Holland, not possible). Tip; come around feeding time, the guy who feeds all the fishes on the ground floor has really interesting stories to tell, and he does so with a great sense of humor!

Albeit small, this attraction is a good way to break up your day in Manly. We spent approximately 90 mins there with the highlight being the penguin windows. There's plenty of fun facts and it's a lot less crowded than most attractions which would make it great for a family trip. My fiancee really enjoyed the turtles on show.

If you will be in Manly you should go to Sealife , it's different from this is Syndey and in my opinion even better.

Needs a good clean up as stuff all over the place but we enjoyed it. Cheaper if u book online but you have to allocate a time.

I took my two children, aged 6 & 2 to the aquarium, it's on the small side but well maintained and we all had a great day out. There's a small play area too once they're over seeing the fish, we spent a couple of hours here. The gift shop was also reasonably priced. Worth a visit if you're in... More

Of the Manly Wharf and about a 300m walk directly to your left is the Manly Sealife Sanctuary. The walk is very easy for young kids. It's a small place and the price may be a little high for what it is but it's a great little aquarium. Plenty of fish, shark, stingrays, eels, penguins etc to view. It's only... More

The aquarium is quite small, located on three different floors so not a pram friendly. The top floor is with penguins and it is quite uncomfortable on a hot day (very humid!). Penguins themselves are just adorable. the middle floor - ground floor has few aquariums with some colourful fish and other animals. The bottom floor is an underwater tunel.... More

Nice place, but on a busy school holiday it became impossible to hear the commentary and frustrating for the kids.

Staying in Manly

Neighbourhood Profile
Manly
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
