Of the Manly Wharf and about a 300m walk directly to your left is the Manly Sealife Sanctuary. The walk is very easy for young kids. It's a small place and the price may be a little high for what it is but it's a great little aquarium. Plenty of fish, shark, stingrays, eels, penguins etc to view. It's only... More

The aquarium is quite small, located on three different floors so not a pram friendly. The top floor is with penguins and it is quite uncomfortable on a hot day (very humid!). Penguins themselves are just adorable. the middle floor - ground floor has few aquariums with some colourful fish and other animals. The bottom floor is an underwater tunel.... More

Nice place, but on a busy school holiday it became impossible to hear the commentary and frustrating for the kids.

Only a small aquarium but had a decent amount of things to see. The glass tunnel was a great experience that the kids loved.

The Manly Sea Life Sanctuary is always a hit with kids and it is interesting for parents too. At $25 a ticket for adults and $17 for children, it is not a cheap option but there are some discounts for family groups and most aquariums around the world are just as pricey. The tickets last all day and allow you... More

We visited with the kids (5 & 2) and really enjoyed it. The lower underwater level was the favourite for all, as was the penguins. A great way to spend a couple of hours.

On the spur of the moment, ms 4, mr 6 and i decided to go to the Manly Aquarium. It was not too pricey, staff were pleasant and helpful and the exhibits very manageable. We had a lovely morning.

We went with our teenage grandson and it was quite difficult to keep his attention for more than half an hour. Which was a pity because there was quite a lot to see and to read the information provided. Unsurprisingly, much of the descriptions relate to conservation and preservation of endangered species. The aquarium is on three floors. The top... More

Neighbourhood Profile
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
