One of the nicest beaches away from the hustle bustle of Sydney. Worth seeking out this gem. One of those places still pristine and pleasant for a day trip. Take your camera and respect this unspoiled gem.
This is a little inlet off the main beach in Manly. It is quite popular with families as it is quite shallow on entering the water but it does drop off quickly as you go out. Great spot for the snorkelling as there is plenty...More
My daughter and I got up to view the sunrise whilst we were staying st the Sebel on manly and walked out favourite walk to Shelly beach. It’s just a picturesque place. Just beautiful . Without the crowds just the very healthy beautiful people we...More
Because the beach is sheltered from the worst of the waves, except on a North Easterly, Shellly Beach is a safe and therefore popular beach. Sadly on the day we were there, the water was full of a mix of finely mashed seaweed and kelp,...More
Really, really enjoyed this beach. Very family friendly especially with the way the water hits the shore (which is to say, there's very little waves), it's perfect for the little ones. The sand itself was "ok" in the sense that it wasn't the finest, perfect...More
Popular beach with a restaurant and facilities nearby.
Good for snorkeling or Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUPing). Calm waters great for kids.
The only problem is that there is not a lot of shade and the shade that there is is not close to the water....More

The Boathouse cafe is large but wouldn't be able to sit you all at once. I would definitely phone them at Moby Dicks at Whale Beach 02 99745440 and discuss the arrangements with the Boathouse Group management. They don't have phones at Shelley Beach!!!!
There is a kiosk for take away coffees etc but again for a group this big I think you would be best to phone and tell them of your visit so they can have sufficient staff,
Enjoy, it is a great spot!
