Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

THE Birchgrove Oval was featured in the movie Ladies in Black. Recently the heritage fence has been replaced and the small beach on the harbour side of the Oval is the favourite hang out for much of the dog population in the area. The various canines mingle chasing each other and retrieving their balls from the water with Labradors the clear winners in the find the ball stakes . Occasionally on hot days children join their pets paddling on the small strip of sand. On the pier some enthusiastic fishermen occasionally land a catch and its a good place to launch a canoe into the harbour. This is a great spot to view New Years Eve fireworks for free.

We stayed in an airbnb only minutes away from this attractive and tranquil park so close to the water. The park is used by early morning dog walkers, and it's always a delight to see parents and their children playing together as a family .There are plenty of benches if you want to sit and read your holiday novel, and the public conveniences are a plus for us senior citizens. Simply safe and encourages well-being.

Birchgrove Park has a very nice looking cricket ground, with a very well maintained outfield. By the waterside there are several benches where it is nice and relaxing to sit and watch the boats on the water.

Birchgrove Oval is right on the water with views to the city and the north shore. I used to sit here at night and soak up the sea breeze. The oval has no stands but hills the whole way around, so is also a good spot for watching sport on the weekend.

On a sunny day, the oval provides great venue for picnics and playground for all. Well kept and tidy, a pleasant area for a wander.

I love to take my dog to socialise, whilst my son attends soccer training. This picturesque park, located right on the water very near to Birchgrove Ferry Wharf, is one of the prettiest parks in the area. Great views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and a beautiful old world picket fence surrounding the historic oval, where the first games of Rugby league were played. The public ammenities are always clean well lite and open. You can also play a game of tennis at the courts, that are suitable to night play also, or use the cricket nets for some practice.

This place is just beautiful...I"ve been here a thousand times. It's great for a walk or a picnic or to watch the kids play sports on the weekends with a sausage sandwich. Great coffee across the road.

Lovely spot to view the city of Sydney. Recently expanded with the removal of old industrial applications. Parking is rather hard to come by though.
