- Sarah J1 contributionTreasure Islands best kept secretWe went to treasure island arcade yesterday, having 3 children you can imagine how expensive it can be. We normally just stay to the 2p machines and head home, today was a little different we met Kate and what a beautiful human she is. My son has adhd and loves pokemon, he was thrilled to see the cards and toys in there to be won. Any problems Kate was there, she had fun with the kids. She had a good giggle with myself and by the time we left we were all happy, smiling and my son said she was his new best friend. He come out of there beaming thanks to Kate, we liked the place anyway but she has made us definitely want to go back. Highly recommended and if you meet Kate your time there will be even more enjoyable. Thanks Kate we had a fantastic time, Kate is definitely treasure islands best kept secret xVisited March 2023Travelled with familyWritten 26 March 2023
- Dr.Nadia RummanDhaka City, Bangladesh54 contributionsAmazing spot for outing and fun in BarryAn amazing place to spend a day out with friends/ families. It was a great weather and beautiful scenery. Restaurants are around and serve good fish and chips. Everything looks colorful. It's an enjoyable place. We enjoyed thoroughly. But the beach water was muddy water. Not good for getting wet. Take a trip. Highly recommended.Visited May 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 11 May 2023
- DanOswego, New York1 contributionAwesome Crazy Kate and her friend Paula 5STARWent to Treasure Island Arcade Bloody amazing ladies filling and fixing the coin drop machines with prizes. We kept them busy and they were awesome, polite, friendly and we can’t wait to visit again next time we come home to visit from NY USA. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR WHAT YOU DO!!Visited May 2023Travelled with familyWritten 13 May 2023
- Danny RStockport, United Kingdom36 contributionsGreat Fun!Spent a Sunday afternoon here in July. Not too busy and could get straight on all the rides. We had great fun and would definitely visit again. There was only one downside - the big wheel. We went on as a family of 3 and it was a little bit windy. Not really gale force but it was enough to make us feel quite uneasy as the ride didnt feel too steady. We only got to go round once aswell as the ride operator took us off after only one turn which didnt seem like enough at all. Given the experience we were quite glad to get off though! Everything else was great however and we were given a good long turn on all the other rides.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 12 July 2023
- CarolineMcKeeShotton, United Kingdom10 contributionsGood to see the park back.I'm glad Barry Pleasure park is back after being closed for so many years. There is a good mix of rides for little kids and whote knuckle rides and the prices for the rides are what I would expect. They have had some new rides recently so hopefully the park is having plenty of investment. Something that does need investing in is the toilets as they were awful. I don't expect anything great at a fair but they were bad. Parts of the fair look like a building site so probably work in progress but are very scruffy. However I'd rather that than no Pleasure Park. The chips from the stall by the gate opposite Stardust amusements are lovely. Looking forward to seeing what else is new what time we come. The big wheel was our favourite.Visited June 2023Travelled with familyWritten 29 July 2023

The beach was clean and it was a pleasant walk along the coast. I cannot say that the amusements looked very enticing!Visited July 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 31 July 2023

- Terence C4 contributionsGreat British Seaside day out.Had a lovely day out at Barry Island, Travelling with Marchants Coaches of Cheltenham. Excellent journey with young Bradley, a thoroughly professional & smooth driver. Barry Island is a very compact seaside resort in South Wales & is undergoing modernisation. Very clean but still obviously a work in progress. Great for seaside lovers of all ages with a nice beach, plenty of amusements & more fish & chip shops than you can shake a stick at. If you are a Gavin & Stacy fan you will love it as every souvenir shop is loaded with merchandise 🤣. Plenty of Candy Floss & a great pleasure park with rides for all ages. All shop staff very friendly & on-site council team making sure bins regularly emptied & rubbish picked up. Great family day out.Visited August 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 8 August 2023
- Rebecca BPenrith, United Kingdom14 contributionsA fun dayFamily fun at its best, there are rides for everyone. We really enjoyed are time at the fair. The kids put this down as theif favourite day. Alot appears to have been done to the sea front to which is nice and you can walk on the beach. There is lots of free 2 hour parking to which is alway as bonus.Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 11 August 2023
- Mark CCoventry, United Kingdom25 contributionsFantastic fun fair and good valueWe went to Barry island on a whim and totally unplanned and had the best of days. Drove from the midlands and got there early as the weather forecast for the weekend was very hot. The beach was clean and tidy ( lovely sandy beach) and i don’t like stone beaches. Had a good swim with the family which was great, took a walk round to Jackson’s bay which also looked beautiful then went to the fun fair. A very good mix of rides which my daughter dragged me on one in particular which was massive. I thought it was great value compared to other sea sides I have been to. Parked in Stardust arcade ( great value all day parking) and ate fish and chips from Boofy’s on the front. Love the place and will return again for a short break.Visited September 2023Travelled with familyWritten 10 September 2023

Today we have had the best day ever at our favourite slot machines in the country. Thanks to the wonderful kind and helpful 'Crazy Kate' our notes changed into coins which changed into so many prizes and raffle tickets. The excitement of watching the 'MEGAWIN' raffle tickets mounting up higher and higher in front of our very eyes was beyond! Again a mahoosive thanks to Crazy Kate and we can't wait to return soon 😀

the park is located in a gorgeous, picturesque location. however, most of the attractions are extremely dated, rundown, and dirty. id recommend checking out the surrounding areas instead. walking along the water and grabbing a bite to eat at finnegans inn would be a much better way to spend your time here.

While staying on holiday in Aberystwyth thought we would make the 2 hour trip to see the famous Barry, being Gavin & Stacy fans. Oh dear we seemed to end up in a Welsh version of Blackpool, tatty fast food shops, rundown Amusements when we visited the pleasure beach was shut but looking at the state of the rides, perhaps that was lucky!? Basically making money from a TV show, surely people wouldn’t visit normally? Certainly somewhere I wouldn’t go back to .

Well it is as they say...what it is. Let's not get fussy, this when open is I imagine a great place to let the children run around and enjoy themselves.
Plenty of things to do, perhaps a little corny and tongue in cheek, but it's just simple fun by the seaside.

The rides look like they could fall apart at any minute, rusty and some have like wood or pallets underneath them for stability.
The ground is full of holes and uneven surfaces, trip hazards for kids and not ideal for wheelchair users.
The cost of the rides is ridiculous.
Some of the surrounding arcades are very outdated too, especially the one directly connected to the leisure park. The machines in there are so old, however some of the children's machine rides in there are the cheapest down the island so that's one small bonus.
Don't let this awful fair ground put you off visiting the rest of the island, some lovely cafés and the promenade and beach are in great condition. The sea is still not at blue flag standard but it's still a lovely beach.

Demolish the place.
Outdated and dirty. This place is only surviving on the back of Gavin and Stacey, which I Loved.
If Billy Butlim gave up on this place
Then it's not good.
The worst 5 hours I've ever spent in a place - apart from A&E.
