As RSPB members this was our first visit. I loved the fact that outside the reception was awash with squirrels, birds and a pheasant. So lovely to get up that close. Very welcoming and even though we aren't actually bird spotters the place has some...More

We are Rspb members. This is a well maintained reserve with several circular walks. the hides are well positoned for observing the wildlife. The visitor centre is cosy with a variety of snacks and home made cakes. The staff aree pleasant and knowledgeable. We stayed...More

What a shame! The accessibility statement sounded promising for my fairly rugged mobility scooter. I really struggled and their idea of level and “good surfaces” are not the same as mine! And we are well used to visiting bird reserves! We managed (just) to get...More

if you love birds visit this place - lovely to stroll round and take time listen to the bird song and enjoy the stillness of the wonder of creation. Recommended

A nice reserve although perhaps the 'easy' description for the salt marsh walk needs revising to moderate. There are a variety of paths, none of them wheelchair or buggy friendly. There are inclines (as you might expect) but under foot it is rather crumbly in...More

We are RSPB members so there was no charge for us to visit but we made a donation anyway because it really is an excellent reserve with well laid out paths, well kept hides, a nice little gift shop and knowledgeable wardens. The birds are...More

We visited here on the weekend in the evening. We were amazed as there was nobody else here. There is a log cabin visitor centre by the car park, with the most squirrels I have ever seen in one place. None of them were scared,...More

Cost is not cheap, we paid £24 for 4 adults and 2 kids, but all goes to RSPB so that is fine. The site is very peaceful and isolated, there are many well placed hides and boardwalks and a nice big area right by the...More

Visited today, beautiful reserve, lovely walks and amazing birds. Not a very good welcome on arrival at the reception and when we didn’t join rspb felt totally dismissed. Only saw one bird feeder at reception and it was empty !! Only one member of staff...More

I don't think so. Website should tell you, but really not sure it fits with the bird watching theme, and viewing birds from hides. I did not see any certainly.
