Lots of opportunities for cycling and walking but we visited with some friends who are not particularly active. So we drove over the dam and had lunch at the small café. It was pleasant sitting outside in the sunshine but the service was slow and the prices high for low grade food. the toilet is just for one person so... More

A beautiful place to visit, for good walks, bike rides, picnics and bird watching. Excellent bird hides close to the lake.

we have walked from an OS map into the hills and enjoyed utter peace and tranquillity with those incredible views. have also hired a bike and done the trip around the lake. Steady and flat. We have taken our own road bikes and enjoyed many miles of superb road bike riding on quiet but hilly roads with some challenging descents.... More

We have lost count of our stays here, at least over 30 and never disappointed, just returned from our annual 3 day Brolly Break, service was fabulous as usual, black beef steaks well cooked and very tasty. Menu overall seemed improved and breakfasts as a delight as usual. Stunning room, stunning views fabulous location looking forward to next year already,

We walked all the way around the lake on a Monday afternoon in January 2017, wow it was cold but dry. Loads of waterfalls to see.
