The Shire Hall was built in 1724 and this fabulous building now holds various events over the calendar. Well worth coming to see this large grade one listed building and a good photo stop.

This is a very grand hall situated before you get to the church, if walking uphill it's on your right. Houses the tourist office now, worth a look around I didn't get much chance as I was on a flying visit.

The court room is a must, so much history to be found in one room, great for children, with lots of interesting exhibits

Old court house with cells. Well worth a short stop. An unusual attraction but fascinating. Make sure you go down into the cells.

This is a very photogenic building which is now home to the Tourist Information Office so it's very helpful.

Our first visit to Monmouth. Lovely town lots to see and do. I will definitely return and spend more time exploring it.
