Visited moel famau yesterday with my partner an dog for the first time an I must say it was fantastic, £2 entry into the car park (doesn't take new pound coins) an then a nice long steep walk up through the trees with some brilliant views (we didn't see to much was it was so cloudy). Would certainly recommend to... More

Took the A494 past Loggerheads towards Ruthin and turned off at the sign post to Moel Famau (about 2miles). There is a car park with toilet and picnic area. Car park has a barrier system to get in £2 (old £ coins) per stay. Various paths (inc cycle) up to the Jubilee Tower. Enjoyed a lovely walk, quite step in... More

Cracking little stroll out start from the lower car park for a slightly more strenuous affair. I think the upper car park is just fine for me, I don't think it would be fun on a rainy day but there's great views from the summit on a clear day. Would highly recommend.

What an amazing climb and view once you reach the top. It is a bit steep when you get close to the summit, but stick with it because the view from the top is amazing. It was a real pleasure on my return to find a little café for a well deserved cup of hot chocolate.

We enjoyed this walk on the bank holiday Monday. Weather wasn't the best, especially near the summit 😀and the visibility was poor so we couldn't enjoy the views from the tower at all. Despite all this, we all had an enjoyable walk, the kids were ok walking the terrain (ages 6 and 9). Will go again for sure.

Moel Famau is a steep hill with a castle on. Over the castle on the hill there is space for a picnic and a sit down if you are looking at the mountain from a distance it is a lovely view.

Come here on a clear day and you will be rewarded with amazing views of Wales and England. If approaching from Mold park in the second carpark without the barrier for access to a variety of walks. The carpark is a pay and display so bring some change. They are several walks from this point and signs indicate different end... More
