Completed in 1290, this is a fine example of a concentric circle, with outer walls serving as a line of defense around a series of inner walls and the main living quarters.

It's quite interesting history when castle was built. Lovely view from the top but unfortunately the Weather was not great when we visit. Not much to do around Harlech but the beach was stunning.

We popped here for a few hours after Zipworld in Betws y coed. The castle over looks the welsh coast and overhangs a massive goal course - hidden behind there is a lovely beach! It’s a very very hilly area and the castle is very...More

While officially dogs are welcome, my recollection is that this doesn't apply to all parts (for safety reasons). Your dog needs to be kept on a leash at all times.

Harlech train station is very close to the castle but you do have to walk up a very steep hill! Shouldn't take longer than 10-15 minutes and you can get a delicious ice cream at the top :)
