I was a great fan of Stax when younger so I was looking forward to this visit. I was not disappointed. Starting with an excellent 20 minute film introduction the museum then gives you a comprehensive look at the label and it's stars. In a...More

Was worth the time but the museum is quick. The actual film you watch takes more time than the tour of the museum. Lots of history here and great things to see. The original place was torn down so this has been rebuilt and they...More

I went to Sun Studios earlier in the same day that I visited the Stax museum so I was able to compare them apples to apples and by far to me the better and more interesting value of the two was Stax. Not to mention...More

For anyone with an interest in music this is a great place to visit. There were plenty of artifacts and activities, even for the kids who weren't as familiar with some of the music. Very well done and worth the time.

Stax, along with Sun Records, is a must see for any musician or music lover. Just excellent! The extensive record collection alone is well worth the price of admission. Do yourself a favor and schedule Stax and Sun back-to-back!

Hi, Jim. We recommend at last an hour and a half, but if you're a fan of the music and history you might want to stay longer. There's a lot to read and a lot of video. Hope this helps! Thanks, Tim
