We visited during a memphis downpour. The museum was practically empty, maybe 10 people in there besides us. I enjoyed the museum- it was quiet and the docents are friendly and knowledgeable. There is a nice local flavor to some of the exhibits so you...More

This museum wasn't part of our original plan but it was a nice experience. It only took about an hour to see everything. It wasn't crowded.

I've been here multiple times with friends, by myself, with my boyfriend. It has an amazing permanent exhibit that I've seen tons of times but the traveling exhibits are always amazing and innovative. I highly recommend anyone to go to this art museum.

The current special exhibition, A Feast for the Eyes: 200 Years of American Still-Life Painting from the Hevrdejs Collection is well-done and interesting. We didn't have time to see much of the permanent collection. The grounds are nice and there's a coffee shop cafe.

I was stunned at the breadth of the collections at this wonderful fine art museum. Topnotch contemporary exhibitions as well.

There is a good showing of the Masters in Art here and worth the trip to see. Interesting building, too!

"The Brooks" has art of various times, so everyone can find something of interest. The Carroll Cloar paintings especially interested us. On the top floor there is a wonderful room where children can become part of paintings by donning costumes, posing in front of backdrops,...More
