A Tower house, not a castle. Called in at the end of the day, were the only ones there. Located directly off the busy A75. Free to enter. Fairly intact considering the age and location. One of the smallest we've been in. Good information board...More

Lovely well preserved little castle. Beautiful views over Wigtown bay from the top. A definite stop particularly if you’re castle hunting. And the bonus is that it’s free to enter.

A fabulous little free treat to make a stop off whilst driving along the A75. Information boards give an overview of the history. Beautiful views of Wigtown over the water. The smoke house offers refreshments if needed.

Stopped here as we were staying over the road. Lovely that is is free, but seemingly so well maintained none-the-less. Really interesting insight into small Scottish castles and a good example given it is so well preserved.

Lovely views from this old,old castle. I saw red deer. Just watching from the top till it jump into the ferns. The Bistro lookes really worth a try. Mine was just a leg stretch.

Discovered by accident while exploring!! A great wee place, cool castle in a picturesque area, and directly adjacent to a lively cafe and smokehouse providing really good food. An excellent accidental discovery.
