Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

True to it's name! Love stopping here the scenery is always beautiful no matter the weather, love to capture the beauty with photography.
The burger van is great for a light bite and a hot drink.

Could do with some bins, would stop people leaving rubbish as the burger van only had a tiny bucket for rubbish

Pass here often and never thought about a review. The view is stunning if ignore the constant road works. The snack van is outstanding and reasonably priced, which is rare for a tourist spot. So, 5* for the van alone.

What a beautiful area in Scotland.
We did not realise that this area is prone to landslips and fortunately, the one that happened when we were there had been cleared, else the diversion would have added much time to our journey.
The area is stunning and well worth visiting.

The view is incredible. Also take time to read the historical insight plaque on the area and how it got its name. Equally if you have a few minutes, wander down the road and see the memorials on the rock face... very poignant and touching.

A substantial 803 feet above sea level, just off the A83, was a viewpoint that we came across by complete accident. We stopped so our littlest man could have a feed and found ourselves parked directly behind the seat, overlooking this photogenic valley.

My eldest and I went for a wander and then got some photos, on what was a glorious early summers day. As well as views of Glen Croe and Glen Kinglas, Beinn Ime projected in the distance and if you looked directly below, an old valley road meandered down to the valley floor (post-Jacobite I believe).

It was also brought to my attention that Barry from Eastenders met his fate here (a plaque commemorates this somewhere).

The area was heaving and it was only 10.30am. Heavy traffic both in the form of vehicles and pedestrians (might want to consider visiting out with peak times). There was a food van but it was cash only, with an option to bank transfer.

Overall and for the views alone, this was a spur of the moment visit that we won’t forget anytime soon!

There are so many lovely parts of Scotland, I'm unsure how this got to be so popular, other than its proximity to the main road which it requires little effort to take in the view. Basically, park in the lot and get out. There are paths which we didn't walk. That being said, our visit was hampered by low hanging clouds and light rain. It would be prettier on a better weather day. So enjoy! But, if you can change your plans to view it on a better weather day, I'd advise. We, unfortunately, could not.

This was our first visit to the Rest and be Thankful on our drive to Inveraray, Lochgilphead and the Crinnan Canal. Unfortunately we went at a time when there was a land slip, however they had opened the Old Military Road which runs parallel with the main road and thankfully we didn’t miss out. Wonderful scenery and a great viewpoint at the top. Get your camera out, you won’t be disappointed

This is a beautiful area and makes a stunning drive to the top. Unfortunately climate change is destroying it before our very eyes so that is why there so many roadworks trying to solve the problems to direct the water flow.
The views at the top are amazing and gives you time to rest and be thankful for the amazing scenery.

Beautiful lookout nestled high up on the A3. A great view point. This is a really beautiful place to see. A place to truly rest and be thankful. A great place to sit and reflect, away from bust city life. Plenty of parking spaces and several picnic benches to sit and take in the views. View is breathtaking, amazing in any weather. It's a must see.

Pulled in for a photo stop late in the afternoon. What a beautiful place with stunning views in all directions. Picked the perfect time to visit with the snow still on the hills. Would love to visit again, this time during the summer.
