We stopped on our way to Inverary on a Shearings trip. What a lovely place, even tho it was drizzly. Can be slippery, so good shoes required.

The history behind the unusual name for this spectacular valley is fascinating. Whilst perhaps, the reason for the building of the road is not something to celebrate today, we were pleased that there is a good information board close to the parking area. The photo...More

Stunning views up here and well worth the effort of cycling up on a beautiful day - but beware, it's mighty dreich in the rain. Take time to look at the memorial stone.

We stopped here to enjoy the views. The weather was changeable and you really notice how the quality of the light changes the place if you are patient enough for the rain to pass and the sun to come out!

Located at the top of a mountain pass - with stunning views. Small car park off the main road, easy to spot with great fast food.

We took this route from Greenock and as the name suggests this spot is truly breathtaking. We stopped off to savour the scenery and reflect on life. A glorious place for contemplation but also to walk.

It is about 6 miles away driving and there are walking paths you can take through the mountains however there is still a little snow on the tops and can get very windy.
