A unique experience
Jun. 2021
This is simply one of those unique experiences that you cannot put a value on. Only travel there with an experienced skipper. If you do then you will not be disappointed but if you don’t - beware!

Whirlpool surf trek
Jun. 2021
A good day's walk or part cycle as the public road ends several miles from the top of the island. A wild camp at the Corryvreckan allowed for good views the day before and a chance for a swim in the nearby bay. Beware midges! Nice circular walk back to the track possible.

There are other boat tours available, try the wildlife tour
Jul. 2019 • Couples
Robert runs a great service to see wildlife on his Jura explorer from Craighouse. We went this week at 5 pm when enough people arrived and had an excellent and exciting hour on his fast boat. We saw sea eagles, lots of seals and feral goats. Plenty of local chat about the area. Recommend. Signboards at the local shop for information.

Mustn't be missed
May 2018 • Couples
Staying on Jura for the week, the Corryvrecken is one of the world's wonders which must not be missed! We were very fortunate with the weather on our trip with an added bonus of dolphins, seals and sea eagles to see.

What an experience!
Jul. 2018 • Friends
We had heard about people paying £40 each (£30 for children) to go on a boat tour however we had read that you can also hike there for free (well £22 return car ferry for 3 people). The walk took us abut 2 hours to arrive at the secluded beach where we could see the whirlpool and a family of seals. There was a perfect lunch spot where we lay for about an hour watching the boats come and go, and the seals swimming about. The walk back took us slightly longer but this was more due to the 24 degree heat.
The car journey to the end of the road was also enjoyable, and we saw plenty of deer on the way as well. Would definitely recommend walking if you can, but would be too much for young children.

speedy efficient clean and comfortable
Jul. 2018 • Friends
Went on a trip to Jura and stopped off at Mac cormaig islands on return Trips take about an hour, each way but we had still water and very comfortable ride. Skipper was helpful and very familiar with the area. Slightly difficult to get to Tayvallich and parking near Public loos , a bit further on. Recommended If you want to go upside wear wind and water proofs and you will see plenty of wildlife and if lucky some cetaeans

Sea life tour
May 2017 • Friends
We went on their 2 and a half hour trip taking in a mixture of sea life between Crinan
And Jura, but main attraction for me was Corrievrekan whirl pools and just visible two pairs of Sea Eagles still on the nest. The owner pilot was a font of knowledge and pleasant with it. We were blessed with good weather but if it had not been there was the option of a comfortable cabin. All in all a lovely way to spend part of a day.

Visited the whirlpool by boat and started to access the straight. We turned round within five minutes as it is 'huge.'
