Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Went in to grab some beers as I’d read so much about the amazing Skye brewery. Sadly didn’t get to try any of the beers as I decided not to buy any due to the rude man working the till.
My partner doesn’t drink (and I do) so I asked if they had any non-alcoholic beers so we could get some for him and some for me. Guy laughed in my face and said in a really nice condescending way that “no, no, non-alcoholic, just the ALCOHOLIC beers”. While laughing to himself. Alright mate, non-alc beers are pretty standard so I don’t think it’s a stupid question.

Decided to visit when we were waiting for the ferry.
When we went in to what was just a shop, I asked if there were any non alcoholic beers. The guy at the till in a very condescending manner replied 'soft drinks are in the fridge' . We just turned around and left. No consideration for anyone who does not want alcohol and could have been a bit more thoughtful in his reply before laughing.

While staying in Portree, we decided to take a drive to Uig. The village is primarily a ferry port and the brewery is the only real place of interest. A great choice of beers in gift packs with staff who will explain the different tastes and allow you to create your own choice of flavours contained in each gift pack. Their branded clothing was good quality and very reasonably priced.

The experience of getting to Sky in our Motorhome towing a little VW Up was a great experience, we headed to the campsite on the loch in Dunvegan.
It was a very small one horse town of a place that would not be conducive with staying a week without any other transport, however Dunvegan Castle was spot on, be careful of the midges “ they are so small you can’t se them as they are the size of a pencil dot.
We used the little car to look around and stayed for four nights.
Take your cameras and ask for the elevated plot overlooking the loch.
Take lots of photos from the same spot with ever changing vistas.
We were touring Scotland for 15 days but would go back to Sky again.
Make sure you can get around when you get there.
Happy Holidays

Throughout lockdown we have been having our beer delivered from here, so it was great to finally get here in person . We love their beers , so got a mixed case . The Gin is rather fine too ! Also it’s right by the Uig ferry terminal so time to nip in and stock up !! They also have gifts and a little coffee shop . Worth a visit for sure .

Cute little shop with bottled beer & gin, and other souvenirs. As others have pointed out, this is just a shop and not a taproom. There was also a little coffee counter, which was closed while we were there. The staff (just one guy on the register) was very nice and helpful.

We called in yesterday in order to buy some local beers.
I found the prices of the beers very reasonable for a tourist hotspot. Average ÂŁ2.50ish a bottle.
Large amount of souvenirs i found a little more pricey.
Drank all the beers last night and I'm happy to report they were all nice. (Larger, scotch ale, red and strong ale)

We haven’t tried the beers or gin yet, so can’t rate them. However, the very poor customer service deserves a mention. I was interested in the gin, but hadn’t been able to try it as so many bars etc were shut due to Covid. The shop manager was not bothered at all, didn’t offer a sample, seemed to be totally disinterested. We decided to risk buying a bottle, plus some beers. Staying locally, we asked for a box or a bag to carry our booty home. Nothing was forthcoming and no offer to drop off our purchases. We always try and support small business when on holiday, and it’s a shame when the staff aren’t motivated or friendly.

When you say Brewery you think there would be a tour or some sort of experience. This is essentially a shop and not much else. The beer selection is quite good and well priced, but the staff are pretty rude & act like they can’t be bothered.

It’s good to go to the source for your beer. It’s good to try some different ales.
The were really quite nice.

Where is a good place to stay. Would love to sample beer, have great food and a place to stay for a couple nights.

If you can't get into the Uig Hotel, there are lots of Bed & Breakfast places on Skye. However, depending on the time of year you will need to book well in advance.
