Overview
More
Mull is wild and beautiful. 300 miles of dramatic coastline, including some excellent beaches, and a castle that's appeared in several films. The island's main town, Tobermory, is famed for the cheerful colours of its waterfront buildings and the yachts bobbing in the natural harbour, where legend has it that one of the Spanish Armada ships sank in 1588 carrying gold bullion. Tobermory is also well known for being the setting of hit children's TV show Balamory.

As it is the only way to get to the Island, the 1 hour trip was very comfortable on the ferry, could even have lasted more for me

Another scenic crossing with views to the Ardnamurchan peninsula. The ferry is a small one maybe holding around vehicles. The ferry has little weather protection for passengers who are not travelling by car/van. Seating is available on the upper deck. Tickets can be bought onboard....More

We caught the ferry from Oban to Isle of Mull. We booked the night before and it was fully booked to take the car so went as foot passengers only. Dogs travel free. This is the way to visit the islands on a budget as...More

The best ferry is Oban to Craignure then drive across the island to Fionport. It's a lovely drive but make sure you allow plenty of time.

Main route as stated is Oban - Craignure .. .. but there is also a ferry from Lochaline to Fishnish. . and if your really adventurous a drive to Ardnamurchan to Kilchoan there is a ferry takes you right to Tobermory.
