What a lovely place to just wander round, looking at the different types of boat from Woking to rich play things, one of the few places left if you did slip you would not hit a rail, but fall in to the not so blue 💦, long may we have access to the lovely harbour

The combination of the houses along the coast and the waters gives an amazing view especially on sunny days, perhaps not really for rainy days - which unfortunately was our case. But walking along the harbour is definitely very relaxing and after the walk, there are plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants nearby so you definitely won't be bored.

Stornoway harbor is a working place, with ferries, fishing boats, and such tootling about hither and yon. You can start a ways up in town and wander along the river all the way down and around to where the CalMac ferries run. Nice shops, some great views of the harbor, and lovely sea air.

Came on a Sunday because we needed toilets before venturing up to the bridge to nowhere. Quiet (obviously) and the harbour pretty BUT the public toilets were not! They charge 20p on a turnstile system but they were dirty and there was no toilet paper. Later in the holiday we found other small toilets at out of the way beaches... More

The fist sights of Stornoway Harbour was from the ferry. This beautiful harbour is simply breath-taking. Catch the ferry from Ullapool and sail across the Minch to Stornoway, it's a great journey.

Small port. Many fishing boats. Seals often present. Across bay from castle and castle grounds. Working harbour. Good to walk by. Sits in the centre of Stornoway, small town in Western Isles.

It's a truly beautiful island with jealously guarded customs which I respect Plenty of supermarkets/ banks and a large A & E Hospital in Stornaway Wildlife (golden eagles)... More

If you have an hour or two whilst in Stornoway, then it's well worth just strolling along the harbour from the ferry terminal down towards Lews Castle. Nice view, fresh air, quite a few little shops on the way. It's also an option to continue for a walk in park around the castle, else there are lots of nice places... More
