Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have recently visited this museum and found it to be excellently maintained with lots of very intyeresting exhibits and looked after by friendly and knowlegeable staff. The Courtroom with its life size mannequins and historic court case replays was brilliant and atmospheric. We were also granted permission to hold our daughter's wedding there, which made it a very individual and memorable occasion. Also to the side is lawned garden edged with an abundance of wild flowers. We would highly recommend a visit.

The Courthouses’s audio enactment of historic Cromarty trials was a great experience.
Lovely to hear the Cromarty dialect being spoken by descendants of those who were originally from Fishertown. A must do activity if visiting Cromarty!

The building is interesting from the outside but go inside and you’ll be surprised at all the information available on the Courthouse as well as some Cromarty history. The volunteers have done a great job putting together an innovative display. Hope to go back to spend more time. Worth a donation!

This is a gem of a museum. Plenty to read and learn about Cromarty's fishing and industrial history and entertaining audios to listen to. The building is the former courthouse and you can see the courtroom upstairs and listen to two historic trials. Downstairs is the cell block. Don't forget to give a donation as the entry is free!

An intimate little museum which makes the most of the story of a really quite remote part of the country. You do get a feel of how the town has evolved and what life must have been like over the years.
OK, it is not the British Museum and I am not sure I would drive far to go have a look. But well worth an hour if you are in town.

Popped in whilst visiting Cromarty. Interesting museum. Court session ongoing which helps set the scene. Lots of little artifacts around the museum as well. Pop inside the jail cell whilst there to get a feel of how it must have been. Ends with a little shop which has a variety of things available to buy

Been coming to Cromarty with my wife for the past 27 years, so have visited the Courthouse many times.
Visited again earlier this week and found the updated Court scenes etc, very captivating. Several new items in the Shop as well, at decent prices. The whole place had been updated and well worth a visit.

A trip to Cromarty was part of a holiday in Inverness. Delightful walk around the waterfront and then we came across the Courthouse.
We were greeted by a very friendly person who explained what there was to see.
One of our party is not too mobile so the climb up to the first floor was a bit of a challenge for them.
There was plenty of interesting information about the history of Cromarty and the industry which took place in the area.
To find this place was free to enter was amazing. We were only too happy to make a donation to help keep the facility open.
