Description:

Nessie, the creature supposedly inhabiting Scotland's mysterious Loch Ness,...

Nessie, the creature supposedly inhabiting Scotland's mysterious Loch Ness, is undoubtedly one of the most well-known monsters in the world. Sightings started popping up in the late 19th century and ever since, Nessie has held the world's attention and the myth has refused to die. Visitors wishing to learn more about the legends surrounding Loch Ness can do so at Nessieland Castle Monster Centre in Drumnadrochit. While this miniature theme park is aimed at children, it offers plenty of educational displays. There are lots of newspaper clippings reporting sightings, grainy photographs and display panels explaining the mystery of the Loch Ness Monster. A multilingual documentary takes visitors on the hunt for Nessie and not only shows eyewitness accounts, but also underwater searches that have been taking place since the 1970s. Whether you end up being a believer or not, Nessieland offers a lot of fun. Kids especially enjoy the supposedly life-sized Nessie model that can be ridden, the large adventure playground and the caves. Of course, there is also a gift shop where the corresponding Nessie memorabilia can be purchased.

Really lovely little attraction. Kids loved it, really informative without boring the kids. The gift shop very reasonable with lovely staff who don't make you feel like you can't have a good look and I didn't feel pressured to buy anything. My children want to go back again tomorrow :)

Very friendly and great for the kids. Dogs are welcome all areas too. Definitely made me and the kids believe, not my husband though!

We enjoyed our 2nd visit to Nessieland today after our boat trip on the loch was cancelled due to bad weather! The children enjoyed exploring the exhibition which offers interaction in Nessie's lair!

We stopped here for a snack in the cafe before our trip on the Loch. There was only one person working the entire shop and cafe. Most food was unavailable as a result, so we ordered some chocolate cake and a coke. We chose this cake because there was a wasp sat on the other cake available, inside the glass... More

I took my family to visit and we all enjoyed our time at Nessieland. The staff are super friendly and work hard to make your visit successful. They are working hard on upgrades and this is evident. The coffee shop has a relaxed atmosphere and the gift shop an absolute must! We will definitely be visiting here again 😀😀😀😀😀

I always liked stories of Nessie as a kid so I had to take mine here! I think I enjoyed it as much as them! Ok, you mustn't take it too seriously but I think anyone who doesn't enjoy Nessieland must be having a sense of humour failure!

Our boat trip was rescheduled an hour later so up we went to Nessieland to pass the time. You walk through the doors and there is a huge Nessie just dying for you to play with her! Scooters and toy dinosaurs and Loch-life creatures to keep little ones entertained. There is all sorts at little person height and lots of... More

Over priced and nothing here. Very disappointing with walking 2 young kids round what was effectively a photo gallery which on occassion repeated itself. Not worth the money.

We visited Nessieland as we were staying in the adjacent hotel. My 6 and 3 year old had fun on the little sit and push along scooters and rode around the Nessie hall, looking at the various monsters. There is also an informative movie about Nessie sightings. The lady in the gift shop was also very friendly and helpful.
