Well worth a visit but you need to be reasonably fit to walk up and down the steps, thought that 4 pounds a bit steep to be pulled into the main cave in a rubber dinghy.

Really enjoyed Smoo Cave. It was impressive. Notices informative. The tour would have been great but I could not get down yto the boat no one's fault, I have had a stroke. The price of tour very reasonable and just to see cave was free.

Well worth a visit perhaps wait until it has been raining for a while or you will not see any waterfall. It hadn't rained for over a month unfortunately when we visited. Still worth going though to see the scale of this cave. Would be a good venue for a pop concert!

Loved the tour of the caves - our guide was so passionate and eccentric that it was a great experience. There is normally a waterfall, but there has been such little rain when we went that it wasn't there - who would've thought! But still a great experience!

Fraser and his team have done a FANTASTIC job of clearing this cave and opening it for public viewing... They actually rent the land and have self funded this with no support from either the government or the lottery.... and there is MUCH more to be explored... Boat trip and cave is a must and VERY cheap... Please support these... More

Like another one of the reviewers here, we were unable to take the tour. I loved stopping by and seeing the waterfall as well as the the coast here, but I was really sad that we missed seeing the rest of the cave. It is not expensive, and I think it would definitely be worth seeing. It is free to... More

Unfortunately I only had time to walk the site and take some photos, but I'd definitely like to go back and do the boat tour. Massive cave in gorgeous surroundings on the north coast of Scotland. There's a reasonably-sized car park with lovely public toilets (both free). No food outlets but there is a cafe a 5 minute walk up... More

Weather permitting, scenery outside the cave was excellent. Tall cliff, green moss on rocks in the water leading from the cave and sunny sky with white clouds. I did not enjoy the cave itself.

We visited Smoo last year but were unable to do the boat trip due to high water levels. The cave is incredible on its own but if you get the chance definitely do the boat tour, it adds so much to it. The guide is really knowledgeable and is able to tell you a lot about the history and geology,... More
