I was amazed at the skills shown in building these dwellings and how they ensured they were kept warm by using small doors etc. No review can described this location and you must visit to experience the atmosphere

Every time we visit Orkney we return to the broch of Gurness. It is in a stunning location overlooking the island of rousay, the clear water and rocky beach below help you take a step back in time. The broch is great because you can...More

A good place to visit especially as you can wander all over the site. This is in a lovely location by the waterside. Informative staff and well worth a visit.

The site is accessed down some fairly narrow lanes. But as we got towards the water we saw a lovely little sandy beach. The channel beyond was choppy but we saw lots of interesting birds and a seal. It is a lovely setting. The broch...More

A rainy day made this an atmospheric visit. The man in the office took the time to give us a really informative talk about the site before we wandered around.

An opportunity to get up close to a piece of ancient history. Seaside setting makes for great photos, as does the broch itself.
