We went to see this and the local area in what we now know as the last time it will be illuminated like this...which is a bit sad. However we have been up to see it normally since and it's worth the walk up to...More

Love walk to the tower, however was surprised to see monument here. Horatio Nelson was Norfolk born. Unfortunately tower as closed so couldn't discover why the tower was here in Forres. "I'll have to "Google" it!" Peter

The Nelson's tower is in the Gratt park in Forres. It is on a hill called Clunny Hill and is a very interesting monument, especially when they light it up during winters.

A nice walk up the hill, even on a wet and cold day! Somewhat muddy underfoot but nothing a good pair of (sensible) shoes can't handle. The Tower is manned by volunteers and entry is by donation. To the top is 97 steps but opportunity...More

Only disappointment was that the Tower did not open to visitors until Easter weekend which meant we were unable to see the view across Findhorn Bay from the top.

Although the history behind this monument is quite impressive, it is in the end just a small watch tower up a hill. i would rather visit some of the imressive castles and coastlines in the area if i was palnning a day out

Nelson Tower is at the top of Cluny Hill which is located in the middle of Forres. Even in winter snow this is a great bracing walk through the ‘spooky’ woods. Some views at the top near Nelson Tower. The tower may open in summer.

On a lovely day it's a great walk up the hill, through Grant Park to Nelson Tower. The tower is now staffed by volunteers - entry by donation - and is open in the afternoon between 2 and 4pm - if the flag is flying...More
