This distillery is in fact a museum. You basically follow the successive steps of the malt distillation process. The audioguide (included in the ticket price) is absolutely clear and concise, and available in many languages. The (vintage) film at the end of the tour is...More

This is a great place to tour a distillery because you can get up close. It is not currently operating but that allows the visitor to see more closely the steps to make single malt whisky.

Stopped off here on my way north to Inverness, the distillery was easy to find, even with a road closure at Forres. The site is well looked after, reasonable sized car park and good facilities for a site of it's age. The staff were welcoming...More

My husband and I have never tasted Scotch before but it is really good. The scotch we had hear after a great tour was like eating caramel. Now my husband has a glass of Highland scotch every night after dinner.

There are dozens upon dozens of working distilleries to visit to be sure - but all on a guided trip in a working production environment or a fee - as a museum Dallas Dhu allows you to wander and look around as you see fit...More

Ideal attraction for both people on the Malt Whisky trail who want to see some of the former old practices in Distilleries - as well as for parents with teenage children who wouldn't be able to sample on the usual operational distillery tours. The order...More

We used our Explorer Passes to tour the distillery the day after visiting a working distillery. It was very nice to see the distilling process again at our own pace. Plus we got to see some parts of the process that are no longer done...More

Learned a lot about whisky and how important this site is to its history. Richard gave us quite a lesson on whisky and how to drink it. I highly recommended.

Despite the distillery no longer being open I would definitely recommend a visit here. The audio tour is fascinating and as the distillery is not running you get to see some parts in more detail. Was fascinated to see what the stills looked like from...More

Dallas Dhu is no longer a working distillery, instead it has been preserved by Historic Scotland to show the whisky making process in close-up with a self-guided audio tour. You can get closer to the stills, mash tuns, etc. than you would in a working...More

Plan for about an hour on this audio-guided tour. But you can spend as much time as you want. Lovely shop.

I was there in a group of 5 and there were a few other small groups as well which were being attended to with the tour. Not sure why they are not returning the call. But I guess you can drop in directly.

No scheduling required and there are staff present to assist. Drive in, park and walk over to the distillery shop and the staff there will greet you and start you on your tour. I hope this answers your question. Enjoy.
